My dad always called them blackcaps although that's the name of another species.
I see nowt here but got loads in my childhood home. We got a swarm of long tailed tits once that appeared from nowhere and I've never seen a single one again.
I saw waxwings years ago becs along near old wilf's cottage near South hylton woods, sunderland gets them during particularly hard spells of winter weather. We had waxwings round here once. There's loads of rowan trees in the woods and they appeared, spent a couple of days munching on berries then disappeared again!

I saw a Jay for the only time ever when I was living in Morpeth. Those are beautiful birds.
Had a pheasant in the garden a couple of years ago, saw one a few months ago when I was walking the dog, had no idea what it was, had to Google various birds before I found it.
Just saw a chaffinch on the seed feeder. Don't usually see them in my garden, although I know there's loads in the woods.
