aye, its a goldcrest alreet, supposed to be fair few of them around at moment, supposed to be a few crossbills too- love to see one.Logon or register to see this image
Not sure if this should go on this thread, as this little one was on our back steps today (think he might be hurt...) or on the things you've just learned thread (presumed it would be called a goldcrest but my American bird book apparently calls it a golden-crowned kinglet )

Right? Certainly what I've always called them. I guess they don't have that name for them over here. The goldfinches we have look completely different to the UK ones as well. Yeah, I see those things all over. This is my first "kinglet" and this summer has been my first goldfinches even though I've been here 20 years! Get loads of cardinals and blue jays in the garden as well. Had a vulture sat on porch not long ago - but unnerving to walk out the front door to!aye, have a look at what americans have as a robin, its more like our blackbird

Muscovy? Remember the peacocks down near the british legion in South hylton, used to make a racket, wonder what happened to them
