What is the point in Trai Hume?

First one he was never gonna recover those 20 yards after roberts slipped on his arse as like it or not Hume ain’t fast even by grandma measure…should put in more effort in recovery like and that’s down to the coaches instilling effort into the team, but they are all freewheeling to the summer now, so no one’s gonna be pulling up any trees as the work effort just isn’t in the team as a whole
First goal, Hume is level with the eventual goalscorer when Roberts slips.

10 seconds later, the ball is in the net and the goalscorer is 20 yards ahead of Hume.

To do better there doesn't even require ability or skill, it just requires motivation and desire.

Such an unneeded and poor thread

We have a core of players who are keeping the club afloat, who are young and never get injured and always play

Hume, Neil, Patto, Clarke until one injury, Ballard ti an extent

To call out any of them is madness, they are a credit to the club

And been totally let down my our signings and managerial appointments

Young players make mistakes. I see people above analyzing our goals on Monday, shock. A 21 year old makes a mistake, how about signing some players older than him?

Absolutely this! 👍

The lad is doing well and has obvious talent. What will help him improve is a good manager and we haven’t had one for a while now.

Is he told to go walkabout or does he just do it anyway? Absolutely appalling defender.
He’s the best right back we’ve had in years. Switching roles as the coaches change the system we play is not his fault. To come out with criticism like this just shows how fickle fans are. The fact he’s been watched by premiership teams shows his ability and quality. A great tackler too, which is a rarity in the modern game. He reads the game well for a young player. His best years are ahead of him.

He's definitely overrated to an extent, similar to Bardsley in that we tend to value defenders doing a big tackle rather than being in the correct position etc.

However as Bardsley has shown, we'll more than likely miss him when he's gone.

But he's young, seems to have the right attitude, and should improve with experience. Harsh to blame any players given the current state of things.
He hardly put a single tackle in on Monday and there wasnt even a mark on his kit by the end of it. I took notice of him in particular as i had a double on him and 09 getting booked but the fucker barely put a tackle in

Perfect example of people not understanding different roles per positions this. He clearly plays an inverted role, IE. he steps into central midfield to plug gaps/cause overloads. It’s not a case of him being a bad player, it’s a case of a tactic being set up totally wrong!

There’s a reason there’s champions league sides looking at him!

Suspect he might actually be sold in the summer and Pembele will be the direct replacement.

A lot of these threads are missing the main point . These lads are in dire need of a better head coach . At least Mowbray got a good tune out of them . The longer we opperate with that vacancy the worse it will get.

Like some of our other better players, ends up trying to create and get something out of the game on his own. Desperation. The fact that we were already 4 down before Dodds made a change is more of a problem. As is the fact that despite getting hammered we still didn’t put a striker on. That just says all you need to know about our transfers.

Totally agree. We’ve got some really vindictive “supporters”. What is the point in Chris Wallace?

Same as Patterson. Mentally overrated and gets away with from criticism as a result regularly, particularly on here. Partly to do with being a local no doubt.

Half decent shot stopper in the championship but that’s it.

Never in a million years a Prem level keeper.

Never understood the hype for him ever.

Appalling in most other aspects of his game as a modern goalkeeper.
I’m hoping that matty young is better, heard good things about him

He is a tremendous athlete and will go on to play in the prem, probably not in a top half team though
I would say if he does that's a very good career.

No, I'm asking what's the point in us doing that - it doesn't work. it hasn't all season. He doesn't plug any gaps in midfield, and when he's wayward he's leaving gaping big holes at right back.

I always thought he was overrated as some were talking like he was going to end up playing for a top 6 Premier League side but he's still a good championship fullback and when you're constantly left on your own with no help from the winger or a defensive midfielder then you're going to struggle.
