What is the point in Trai Hume?

He has his brain farts, just like the rest of them at times, but he's the least of our worries. He clearly gets told to go central and join the midfield, which takes a lot away from his defensive duties. Roberts didn't help him yesterday and neither did Ekwah when he was hanging about on the right wing for Hume to go central in the first half.

Probably one who will move on to better things in the summer due to the big profit we'll make on the lad and he'll be a miss when he's gone. Especially if our recent recruitment is anything to go by.

Without some decent coaching he'd get absolutely rinsed. And a hatful of yellow n red cards to go with it.

But then again, PL coaching will be a world apart from the high performance culture we've got here.

Maybe so, but there's teams wanting him and he's still relatively young.

Pembele hasnt even challenged Hume for the RB spot yet, and Hume is even a better choice filling in at LB than Styles and Hjelde. Those were all bought after him so the club have yet to bring in better player than the apparently shit Hume.

He's not a bad player, just some folk like to exaggerate. We've got far worse in our ranks who we'll be stuck with for a few seasons yet, whilst he's moved on and left us behind.

It’s mad that when Hume gets a load of stick in here nobody ever seems to point out the fact that he’s 21 year old.

Yet if Neil, Patto, ekwah, jobe etc get any stick their age is the first thing mentioned.

He’s been shite this season but Hume has been quality in the past.

Bad slip from Roberts, gifts them the ball, Roberts at least attempts a recovery tackle but he's beaten. Hume trotting back aimlessly. He's stood outside the 18 yard box when it goes in ffs.

2:35, the long lead up to the second. Roberts dispossessed in their half, as Blackburn double up. Hume for some reason has wandered over to the left, offering no support to Roberts. O'Nien moves to right back to deal with their move down the left. Roberts tracks back and makes the challenge on the edge of the box, giving them a free kick. Hume?? Wandered into the right centre half position.

The ball's cleared from the free kick, we're slow to push out as the ball bounces out of play. Hume assumes his right back role, and ball watches as Mundle and Roberts make an attempt to close down, O'Nien's rolled on the edge of he box, balls played across and they score a 2nd.

3rd goal. Just watch him. Fuck sake. Over committed in nee man's land and we're left with a 3 on 2 counter. He's not at fault by any stretch, but that whole goal is a structural disaster.


5th goal, wins ball, tackled, sat on his arse, token jog back towards the ball as they do us on the right hand side for the 3rd time.

Nee argument from me there, it was just an example of that stood out as he didn't get away with it. At this level the recovery tackles are sometimes enough, but you will be found out eventually.

First one he was never gonna recover those 20 yards after roberts slipped on his arse as like it or not Hume ain’t fast even by grandma measure…should put in more effort in recovery like and that’s down to the coaches instilling effort into the team, but they are all freewheeling to the summer now, so no one’s gonna be pulling up any trees as the work effort just isn’t in the team as a whole

Second one, roberts coulda knocked it down the line for ekwah to run onto but as usual tries his mazey dribble and gets caught..again, Hume outta position a little but in his defence szmodics was down there too, so when the ball came down the wing szmodics had went into the box so Hume looks in no man’s land again.

The free kick cleared, roberts again, fucked up the clearance near the line, kept running the Blackburn lad grabbed a ball quick throw in then Hume was 2v1, dropped off when the other two players came to help, their winger chipped it past Hume to szmodics whole went past 09 like he wasn’t there, Hume was behind szmodics then so can see him raise his hands and pull back so he didn’t make contact

I Lost the will to look after that, depressing enough watching it yesterday than sit thru it again.

Gonna be a big summer of disappointment as it’ll be more of the same players coming in as this bunch of owners aren’t gonna put anything in like what is gonna be needed to sort out the team.

Either way Hume is gonna be the full back next season too as we just won’t have the funds to upgrade, even roberts is looking the type of player we should be trying to sell now we have him on a contract as the end product is shite regardless of how tricky he is
