What is the point in Trai Hume?

He’s a very good fullback. Unsurprising his form dips when he’s asked to perform other roles or given absolutely no protection by the player ahead of him
This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ he's being destroyed, first by Michael "the cretin" Beale and now by Dodds (though Dodds has a pass for now while he does a favour for his mate) who doesn't really have enough nous to pick a team and manage game time.

Hume plays his best football with an in form Roberts in front of him. He's just another youngun learning his trade, with his form being patchy this season, but last season his form was outstanding from start to finish (and from out of nowhere really).

Until we get some experience in the squad then they are going to develop at a much slower rate.

Is he told to go walkabout or does he just do it anyway? Absolutely appalling defender.

utter nonsense
He's definitely overrated to an extent, similar to Bardsley in that we tend to value defenders doing a big tackle rather than being in the correct position etc.

However as Bardsley has shown, we'll more than likely miss him when he's gone.

But he's young, seems to have the right attitude, and should improve with experience. Harsh to blame any players given the current state of things.

The opposite, Bardsley was underrated here.

He’s been piss poor all season and gets away with murder on here because he likes a hard tackle, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt until we have a manager who knows how to set a team out tho as currently it looks like nee fuckers got any idea where they are supposed to be everything is over complicated because of Dodds trying to make himself look like a master tactician.

Least of our concerns looking at others. recently won player of the year for Northern Ireland and is a very good full back. Spends more time in midfield for us due to our tactics and that can be a problem at times.

He’s from the irish league. He makes the odd mistake but i love the way he tackles like an old fashioned full back. I like him. He make no more mistakes than captain marvel luke o nien or ballard who has been shite since mags game.

Not PL quality, but lots of our players aren't Championship quality, so I think of him as one of our better players.

Hasnt been the same player since the Newcastle game.

I think hes a good player though just lacking confidence maybe.

Same as Patterson. Mentally overrated and gets away with from criticism as a result regularly, particularly on here. Partly to do with being a local no doubt.

Half decent shot stopper in the championship but that’s it.

Never in a million years a Prem level keeper.

Never understood the hype for him ever.

Appalling in most other aspects of his game as a modern goalkeeper.

Eh I thought most locals get the hardest time because people are jealous of them. Which is it ? Personally I think we are impatient with our own

Won us the point vs QPR by his sell. Think everyone is just having a go at literally anyone at the minute, Just the way things are. Can't wait for the season to finish now.

the problem is he's 22 and expected to be a senior player. This requires taxing emotional work (mentoring, being an example etc.) that takes away from the fact he is still developing and around 4 years still from his peak. He's played every game this season and it is showing- it's no co
incidence that he performed very well against cardiff but was all over the place in the next game- the championship is brutal in terms of the amount of games played- injuries to Huggins Alese and Cirkin, as well as Pembele not being used- has meant that the times he could have ben rested he was playing left back instead.

fundamental problem with filling the squad with future prospects (and whatever the hell is up with our medical team/training) means you end up with no cover. So even when he needs a rest and isn't performing he gets shoved out onto the pitch. Jobe as well- it's been a long season. The two weeks off helped a lot, but another game so soon after showed how taxing it must be.
It has to be said if Pembele isn't good enough to start- or even get on the pitch when we are 5-1 down- why is he even on the bench?
It was pep mowbrayola who started telling him to go walkabout he's a good player
tbf, it wotked quite well under him- especially last season- our right side was fantastic at times with Roberts Amad and Hume
