What has Speakman done to be so hated?


I'm very much 50/50 on him. He's made some total fuck ups, but then has done some good as well. Probably more 60/40 against, but would say the good things he's done are totally ignored because of the lack of striker and Beale appointment.

Did well first year but has been dog turd for a year and a half but has continued to try and give a persona of I'm right and you are all wrong.
 
He has done a good job overall but whatever happens, the first team situation in the current moment will always sway 95% of the opinion of fans

The academy is transformed, we are light years ahead of where we were under Madrox yet he still has annoying problems with the 'process' when it comes to employing Head Coaches and they have had a total blindside to recruiting strikers from the very start.

So given we've had an appalling season of recruitment, three Head Coaches in one season and consequently a complete collapse in the league, its hardly surprising he's not very popular.

Id say the good things he's done are all long enough ago that it's hard to praise him for signing a few good players when he's got rid of just as much and brought in loads of shite to replace them since

We were a shambles since Xmas and I'd never even try say otherwise. He has tried to sort some off field stuff out, then a mags debacle put them all in a bad light. We apparently have players catching the eye of top flight clubs, so again done something right. The lack of Strikers, mags shite, appointing Beale etc, really poor though and he'll find it impossible really now to come back from it.
 
I haven't read all the posts , if a manager had signed the players he has and had the results we have had would he have been sacked. . All this head coach shit does is avoid who is responsible when the model doesn't work. Please get a traditional player signing manager in asap.

When we plod along at pitch speeds mid table for years and years at what point will you admit the utter shambles that is speakman employment at SAFC ?

If we don’t appoint a competent leader, or manager or coach or whatever their job description is, soon enough to make a difference this summer and it’s Speakman’s responsibility, then he should go.We can’t have another season like the last, we’re rapidly losing credibility as a club and it’s obvious to all why people don’t want to come.

That's not necessarily true. The medical staff, whoever is making the plans for players seems to know what they're doing at least.

Stewart is one they called right. They got Huggins actually playing regularly and staying fit for a decent period

They got Alesse being rushed back right, just Mowbray took the risk to get to the premier. A risk I'd also have taken at that point

A number? Everything he seems to touch turns out to be the absolute worst thing he could have done. Were I to sum him up I’d say he just fails to act and act decisively. Not replacing Ross Stewart is always banded around. But there is so much more. Both instances he’s had to appoint a really good coach who can take a bunch of no mark players and get them playing good football he has failed to do so. In this situation he doesn’t seem willing to appoint anyone at all. His inability to act decisively and using a decent amount of money I find deplorable.

Maybe the coach & director of football should be hired & fired as a team, it might help stop the penny pinching
