West Indies Test Series

Just seen that they have a warm up going on, either the pitch is flat or the attack is lacking penetration
Not sure how many of these bowlers make the line up for first test but to be honest the quality is about the same as the youtube stream and thats you would think you where watching a 2nd Xl game from a club ground.

Thinking 2-1 England, West Indies bowling line up even without roach is good enough to run through our batting if they get the right conditions.

May well be proved wrong in due course but I agree with Parkside and think their attack looks very weak. Not only didn’t they bowl out the representative side but their economies were alarming as well (could be a fast scoring ground/pitch - I haven’t watched so just going off scorecard).

I am not sure whether the selection of the lad that’s been playing at Ashington is on merit or because he was already over here but I don’t think he’s setting the NEPL alight particularly to start worrying an England test batting line up.

Atkinson gets the nod for the first test.

Crawley
Duckett
Pope
Root
Brook
Stokes
Smith
Woakes
Atkinson
Bashir
Anderson
I know he was never going to play, and there is no room for sentiment in international sport, but you have to feel for Lawrence carrying the drinks again.

He’s a professional 12th man these days

Hoping it will be a cracking series

I’m not expecting to be around for it due to the ongoing debate which no doubt will lead to yet another ban for me

Do have a cracking test summer all and hopefully I may see you all , over the winter matches

Well the home international summer is about to begin nearly half way through July and series against Windies and Sri Lanka feel a bit low key to say the least.
Could be one of those summers for players to take advantage and massage their averages.

Not sure I get the logic they have written Jimmy off but yet pick Woakes who has pretty much ruled himself out from touring abroad.

Interesting that Smith a Bashir get picked despite the fact then don’t perform the main role for their county.
