West Indies Test Series

I guess they want Woakes to get some cricket in, as he will have to be the experienced member of the attack from next week.

And because he can bat and it’s a long tail with Atkinson, Pennington, Bashir and Jimmy.

Don’t disagree with you mind
Could you let me pm you please ?

Absolutely this. He's 35 and, while a good bowler in English conditions, has never been in the same league as Anderson. His inclusion goes against the so-called strategy to rebuild the team.

TBF smoker I'd play him after Jimmy "retires" as we have India next year and judging by the Ashes here, Woakes is abetter bowler in these conditions now than Jimmy...in theory

But this game, I dont get.

We play half our cricket at home though, and I have always been someone to push for bowlers in home conditions and then drop them for away

Without wanting to sound like an Indian or an Aussie. Hopefully we'll bat first so it has a chance of going into the weekend.

The WI side fills me with no confidence at all, particularly the batting
