What's the prices people have paid for clubs in the championship without parachute payments as a guide?

no idea...and TBH I suspect it varies widely..
for example..SAFC lost £26mn in the final championship season under Short..
Sheff Weds are losing £20mn now I think..but obviously adjust those for inflation...

I reckon I’d be thinking if they’re throwing that much to buy us they must have money to burn and would be eyeing galactico.

Anyway…used to work in Kingswinford and most of the people from work were dingles but the West Brom lads were the best crack

Needs a change anyway mate. West Brom will always be a big team so you know you’ll have your day.

Everyone is after clubs now so the prices are inflated. There's not many better returns on investment than a well ran football club. You can go out and buy young prospects for next to nothing and develop them and get 500+% returns, the stock market only returns on average 10% a year. Then if you get into the prem that's massive money, easily more than the 60m you've paid for west brom in one season.

Their accounts for 22/23, their last year of parachute payments, have been released. Wages and amortisation was 99% of revenue but this year their broadcast income will be down around £30M so can only see that getting worse. They also have a loan from MSD with an interest rate of 15%.
