It would have been much easier to do nothing, watch Ross struggle and then sack him when he had absolutely no choice, blaming him. However he has taken a tough decision - putting himself in the firing line - then within a week has recruited someone who is best placed to deliver our short term objective of getting into the Championship. This is not a strategic 5 year move, it is an 18 month one.
Now people calling for Donald to go. You absolute idiots. He has done everything we have asked and wanted as fans so far. At the time most were happy with Ross as an up-and-coming-manager-of-the-future. All well and good but the NOW is more important. We need promotion first, then think about the next 3 years to get back to the PL.

Oh, and anyone who thinks getting MSD involved this year would make any difference knows nothing about finance or FFP. Their investment has nothing to do with this appointment.

So if they invested twenty million we couldn't increase the manager budget higher than the reported 200k Parky is on

There's no such thing as FFP in league 1, man.

I don't disagree with your first point, but on FFP (SCMP in L1), the only restriction is a max 60% of turnover to be spent on wages. Direct investment by the owner is considered turnover under SCMP so MSD involvement could make a massive difference.

Short term objective in getting to the championship is simplistic at its very best. Getting there with a squad full of plodders at our wage limit is very different from having a long term strategy.

Not sure how he is best placed but ok.

It's not an 18-month move, its 30-month move. Be prepared to keep making "moves" if that is how you want to run it.

Donald should go imo, or appoint someone to run the club. It's reductive, its short-termism, its Ellis Short on a budget and frankly more self-aligned.

The trouble with your post is that Donald, after the play off final debacle, should have terminated Ross's job on the spot before he even left wembley. He failed to see what everyone could see and had seen from before Xmas 2018 ,unless your blinkered. , t Ross was not capable and his play deteriorated back in the previous Novemeber. Playing a play off final without a prioven striker, I fecking ask you!

Only a real whopper could try and spin this in a positive light. It’s utterly shite.
