We need to spend.

Wow. You've managed to completely ignore any insight provided about the nuances of the situation and forge ahead with a half-baked notion of what you think is happening based on absolutely nothing.

Good work.
You can sugarcoat it and spin it however you wish but ultimately, if these guys have no financial clout, then we aren't going anywhere.

Burnley's owners have never loaned them any money - they seem to be doing OK. We've had a club reliant on its owner's cash for 10 years now - it means nothing if the club isn't well run. Give me people with limited resources who can run a football club over a billionaire who can't any day of the week.

Sadly, you're another who just wants a sugar daddy. You haven't got one - tough.

We ain't getting players in quickly enough like, people may say, aye we need to get players out first, but that attitude has hurt is the last few summers.

It means you end up getting players right at the end of the window and have wasted pre-season

For example we had Adam Matthews playing centre back in pre-season, that shouldn't be happening

Aye but it's not the same situation. We have been in freefall for 2 years, and we need a little bit of initial investment just to get straight back up and reverse the curve. We ain't talking millions and millions here

Really don't think that is too much to ask, our squad is so far short at the minute.

3 weeks until the season starts. If we are going to bring a bit more quality you could argue reasonably that we are already doing this later than would be ideal. No doubt there will be a number of ins and outs right up until the transfer window shuts.

Here's an example - Cattermole off to say Stoke on a free, saves the club £2 million in wages that they are committed to pay him over the next 12 months. This could then allow us to bring in 4 players on £150k a year and say total transfer fees of £400k.

The club gets the high earner off the books, four new players in and still saves £1 million over the next 12 months.

Yes mate but the window shuts start of August, it might not happen, then we are in the same position as last season, an unbalanced squad in free fall

it'll be persuading Stoke that's a good idea that's holding up that deal

I think it is ok to be concerned with the signings and less than a month till the window closes. It may change but we are talking about right now.

Burnley are a fairly unique example and, whilst it is obviously a very credible model to follow, it will be very difficult to replicate given the scarcity of good players available and willing to play for us on League One salaries.

Given the amount who want to leave and the amount we need to sign once some of them leave and with a shortened window it was always going to busy towards the end of the window

The club are talking to agents of players man FFS, nothing rarely gets done quickly in any league!

Decent players will always have more than one club interested, we note our interest and let the player know how much we are willing to pay, they then go on to the next interested club and see what is on offer there....it's takes time and it's not just down to our owners, we'll have to wait on agents and then do more negotiations on top of that.

People really need to calm down and have a bit of patience, it will take as long as it takes and it won't be because our club is holding things up.

Its not a case of wanting to get out of League One we need to get out at the first attempt

The only problem with that us the season is a month old by then. Not much we can do but it'll probably be a slow start for us.
