Diallo chant sang after 2 mins and then 2 mins later the south stand sings ‘we’ll sing what we want’

Imagine down the line Diallo decides not to come back here because of thickheaded supporters not showing him the smallest amount of respect here smh. Just make a new chant that is a bit more friendly
I’m sure people will disagree, but having worked with people from all around the UK and lived in Oxfordshire/Highlands/East Lothian I hadn’t realised just how bad casual/overt racism is at home. A lot of the time it’s passed off as banter/acceptable because it’s not meant in a bad way, whereas other times it’s just blatant.

I live down south and there's very little to no casual racism I've noticed here compared to when I'm back home

I’m sure with a lot of people it’s still just ignorance. We have some of the least diverse areas in the country in and around Sunderland.
It’s only here that I still hear people using paki or ch*nky in normal conversation.

I heard "Sing what we want" but had no idea what it was in reference to. I hadn't heard the Diallo one, but it can be hard to make out what people are singing sometimes.

The players who take the knee have told you exactly why they do it. The reason they do it is to raise awareness of all types of discrimination. Yet some of our fans choose to boo that. Well certainly there will be a much higher percentage of people in Sunderland share your view just as there is a much higher percentage of people in Sunderland think the Diallo chant is ok. It’s where we are.

Of course. Its racists in the ground booing players with racist knees protesting against racism. So that must mean the racists in the crowd aren't actually racist, and the players with racist knees arent protesting racism, but supporting it.
