Watching Luton this afternoon

Fuming they went for the cheap option by appointing out of work Rob Edwards as manager.
Luton’s style of play gives them a chance. We’d have gone up and tried to play nice football and got pasted everywhere we went.
Their football is pretty good tbf, miles better than when they were in the Championship. Knock it about quite well at the back, get it wide, and balls in to the box.

They have recruited superbly and seem to have adapted their game to give them opportunities.
Sheff Utd, Burnley, who finished well clear of them last season look markedly inferior to them. Still think they will probably go but at least it will be down fighting.

Rob Andrews is a very clear manager, he's understood that Luton can't play like Man city unlike Vincent Kompany, However what is has also done is bring in players like Ross Barkley and at 30yrs old is in his prime.

We wouldn’t have beaten Coventry.

Is he as good as Rob Edwards?

And signed robust, experienced men. Perhaps it isn’t about spending fortunes. Perhaps it’s also about a bit of sensible pragmatism rather than dogmatic ideology
exactly..they had an experienced team...not an expensive one..
still took four years but they got there adnd even if they get related...theheir new stadium will be paid for with the PL money and the long term prospeects for the club are enahnced..

edwards rather than andrews but yes...

We’d be in the same position as Burnley. Mowbray wouldn’t have changed like Kompany hasn’t and we’d be getting hammered
odd..people on here had mowbray down as a dinosaur and not a tippy tappy terndy manager like Kom-pany..
it cant possibly be both!
True Sunderland fan speaking here. If only we were as big a team as Luton.
luton is a smaller club..but they have finished in a higher league position that SAFC every season for six seasons..thats what their fans will care about not which is "bigger"

It’s so frustrating to see them giving Man U a really good game

If we had defenders fit in play offs then we probably would have beaten them

The regression versus their progression given the relative scale of the two clubs is irritating to say the least
It's only because of the bear pit at The Kenny 😉.

Harford is a class bloke. When Nathan Jones walked out on Luton, Big Mick temporarily ditched his head of recruitment role and in the clubs hour of need took over as head coach and propelled the team to a 28 game unbeaten run and promotion as champions of League One. Speakman talks a good game but is too much of an arrogant self preservationist to stick his neck out and do that. Struggling after the Johnson sacking he preferred hanging Dodds and Proctor our to dry than take the reigns for a couple of games, yet as dof everything we do on the pitch at all age groups is based solely on his philosophy. Blokes a slimy coward and not fit to tie someone like Harford's shoe laces.

That’s a hard argument to make given how many of the teams with parachute payments get promoted every year.
Those teams are littered with premier league experienced players, not top premier league players but it obviously doesn’t have to be. Someone was arguing on here yesterday that we didn’t need experienced players.
