He's obviously a bit 'special' isn't he?
Even ignoring WBA, Wolves, etc, the population of Birmingham is 1.074 million. The population of Sunderland is 177,739.
34,000 fans........shit support m'lord.

Aye, but Birmingham City are the big team in the city, they have 90% of that support...oh hold on a minute........ :)

What you haven't done is point out the years when they were going for the Champions League and we were wondering where the next 3 points were coming from.

Steady on, it's not like they've won the League, Fa Cup and European Cup in the last 35 year is it :)

It actually appears that it is you that is thick. There are actually 6 teams within 20 miles of each other. You could probably draw a radius of more than 50 miles around Sunderland and only get 2 teams.

The 34000 that Villa get are no better and no worse than your fans, so as previously stated, you are not some kind of super fan
I wonder if villa would get 40000 plus in the championship like we did ,here's hoping in any case !

There is more support/allegiance for Blues within the City of Birmingham than there is for Villa.

A lot of Villa's support is from outside Birmingham.

Well, as you know so much, what percentage are you talking about?

Last I heard around 4pm we had 10 restricted tickets left...

We already have our lower tier tickets but will be in those restricted spaces ........ it's under the scoreboard and the best place to abuse the Villa wankers.

Haven't managed to suss the actual percentages yet, will clearly have to do a bit more homework on that and report back.

Worked down there a fair bit though and know the city fairly well. It very much seems that there is more 'allegiance' within the city to Birmingham than to Villa. There are more pubs, bookies, etc with BCFC-related stuff in them than Villa ones. I don't believe this is particularly contested, even by Villa fans.

Villa's support tends to be from all over the Midlands, and a bit of North Birmingham. Rest of the city is bluenose turf.

Obviously you would have s bit more experience with dogging it out down there, but for the sake of enlightning the north, we packed Villa Park with 48000 in the third division, never mind the second.

I find this forums fascination about attendances f***ing hilarious though. I'd keep my focus on winning stuff, but each to their own.

For what it's worth, while Brum has more people, the demographic is totally different. Cricket is huge amongst 30-40% of the population. And amongst this group football is irrelevant. Then add other sports which are cemented in the era through history. Then add a f***ing ton of clubs competing. Totally apples and oranges, but I understand why you choose to look at it. Despite how sad it is.

Keep it going though. Will enjoy picking three points off you again.

Enjoy Sherwood, you sound like his type of fella.

Absolute rubbish ........ you've no idea whatsoever how many cricket lovers go to football games.

30-40% of the population of Birmingham only watch cricket ............. ffs, that's totally f***ing stupid and 100% made up

25-30% of the population of Birmingham is of Asian descent. Cricket is massive in that community. By contrast, football is much less actively followed.

Great support again if you're taking full numbers down there.

Something I find baffling is how Sunderland get such a hard time in the media and from fans of other clubs for their empty seats. I've said it before on here but it really is a bizarre argument. It's like it's better to have 32,000 in a 33,000 stadium than 41,000 in a 49,000 because the first example appears to those on the TV to be more full. I really can't get my head around it.

And another strange one is when they show the fans streaming out when you're losing 0-3 at home to Norwich, slating the support or then bringing up the empty seats stuff again. Conveniently ignoring that 40,000+ have bothered to turn up in the first place .

I've never rated Villa's support but not going to bother having a go other than mentioning the empty seats ma lord chant. Very odd and hypocritical chant from them.
Maybe Villa are actually singing about themselves my lord.

They only bother when India or Pakistan are laying locally man

Why is cricket huge to 30 to 40% of your population ?:lol::oops:

Been in this country long enough so they are still not integrated
