I honestly didn’t think the day would come when I’d find a fan base more delusional than them up the road. Alas that day arrived today. 12/7/2020.

There’s no love lost with Villa and I, but this is plainly wrong. Since we last won a trophy they have won 4 league cups, 1 Championship, a charity shield, a European Cup, a European Super Cup, and played multiple times in Europe. In the last quarter of a century? Well until 2016 they had a run going of 40 years in the top division. How is that even slightly similar to our record?
No they didn't. They were relegated in 1987.
Were they??
Yes.
And we reckon the Mags are delusional.

Poch, I'm not sure why the dont set their sites on pep, hes having a bit of a rough time at city, fuck me how disillusioned are these people, then again the relegated the mags and celebrated like they won the league so they cant be all that badTheir record is so similar to ours. Won the top league and FA cup loads of times before WW1. One cup and one league within living memory. Can't deny a fantastic year in '81/2, and a couple of league cups way back then, but apart from that they have been a yo-yo club for the last quarter century.
I'm sure Poch is eyeing up mansions in Solihull

What’s your trophy haul in that time Benjamin lad?Since Sunderland won FA cup in 1973 Villa have won the title the European cup and four league cups. Since promotion at Sunderland expense in 1975 they have spent 3 years outside top flight. Sunderland got promoted the year after and have spent 14 years and counting outside top flight. Including 3 years in Third Division. And counting. But apart from that Sunderland recent record similar to Villa,
The only club of their size to ever play in the Championship?
Ourselves, Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Forest may have something to say there
Are you classing that as a trophy now? Looks like a certificate Benjamin ladTbf Villa have won more trophies than any of them clubs. And more recently.
As you clearly state. Just the one European trophy since 1973.

that’s the weakest thing I have ever readWe been here before. But yes trophy being defined as follows allows for certificate being counted.
'a cup or other decorative object awarded as a prize for a victory or success'
I think it would be fair to use the last decade and prospects for the future as decent indicators for how 'big' a club is. Anything else before that is something for supporters to look back on and not a lot else.
Leicester City, on tv at the moment (and imploding spectacularly!), are chasing a Champions League place. A competition they've already competed in after winning the title 4 years ago. Full houses (prior to lockdown) in a relatively new stadium and attracted a number of internationalists to the club. They began the last decade freshly returned to the Champiomship having been in League One the year before.
Whether Villa like it or not, Leicester City totally dwarf them in terms of how 'big' a club has been in the second tier of English football the past few years.
that’s the weakest thing I have ever read
Some of it is but it also has the biggest council estate in Europe and some appalling deprivation.Solihull is dripping in cash, not too dissimilar to Alderley Edge near Manchester
I’m trying to think of a good analogy for your argument. That be Chelsea & Man C with 11 trophies. Man Utd with 6. Arsenal & Liverpool with 3. All but Liverpool can add to those figures by end of season.
Guess it is as destroys your argument. But sadly for you Intertoto certificate meets dictionary defintion of a trophy.
