Ukranian refugee visiting for Rotherham

Alright lads and lasses.

Last week we had a Ukrainian family move in nearby and my eldest has befriended their son.

He loves his footy and my youngest lad has very kindly donated his season ticket to this young lad so he can experience live footy for the first time.

Obviously the lad has arrived with just the clothes on his back and has very little possessions to speak off, certainly nothing footy related anyway.

Iv dropped Chris Waters an email to see if the club are in a position to donate anything for him that we could collect on the night.

Bar Chris managing to get back in touch with me (it's only 48 hours till the match) does anyone have any ideas on people at the club to contact / places I could contact to get the lad kitted out with footy gear?

Send me your details marra and I'll get the lad kitted out head to toe. No way hes eventually going home supporting another team

I think the yellow pair are 11-12. My son has outgrown them, loads of them still have the tags on and the rest are in excellent, unmarked condition.

Only problem is I am not going to the match so I would need someone to collect them from me (Hylton Castle) and take them to the stadium. It would have to be today or before the match as I'll not be home until about 2pm tomorrow xx

Not just for this lad, but something where our fans can donate and next season money can be spent on tickets and safc merchandise for any refugees who have arrived and want to watch some football. There's loads of great fund raising going on for the humanitarian drive in and bordering Ukraine, but this could be a really good thing to do locally

We've just had a couple of huge donations, thank you so much to those who have so kindly sent us their hard earned. We'll be kitting the whole family out at this rate.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far.

As a way of a quick update, the guys at ALS have offered a few pieces, and we'll be starting there tomorrow night.

We are also collecting some pieces on the way from @addicted_to_safc 👍

Had a chat with Chris Waters today and he is putting us an itinerary together once we have caught up @Doberman and the team putting out the flags.

Thanks so much everyone. It's going to be a night to remember for the lad.

@exiled_in_manc dunno if it’s any use but I upgraded the bairns x box at the weekend so have an x box one s 1tb just sitting here, was only going to hoy it in CEX. Pm me an address and I’ll sent it down and I’ll throw in a copy of fifa 21 I think it is, bairn didn’t like it so it’s still in its wrapper. Should be able to get it posted Wednesday at the latest as not there tomorrow.

Unless anyones passing Washington Village around 6 tomorrow and can collect it and meet up with you.
