Type 2 diabetes

My father had that iirc.

They started cutting lumps off him because of Gangrene and i'm told it was because he was unaware of having it.
Toe, then foot, then leg. I don't think he was happy about it.

Untreated and having HbA1c of 89 isn’t too bad. Normal is 20-42.
With known diabetes you should be aiming for 48-59. Listen to what the diabetes nurses say and don’t skip any monitoring appointments for blood, eyes and feet. You mightn’t see any immediate effects of high blood sugar but long term effects can be horrible, blindness, stroke, amputations erectile dysfunction.
Hopefully that’s enough to keep you looking after yourself!

Do not do owt daft like 800 calorie a day diet. I reversed my mam's type 2 a few years back and she was eating a Kit Kat crunchy everyday and a bag of maltesers on a saturday night when my dad was out. Sensible calorie deficit and hit a decent fibre goal to ensure you have slower releasing carbs and you are laughing 💪
