Rookie contracts, are in essence, based on your age. 19yrs old, you get £19,000 per year and so on. Most "Rookies" also get payments from clubs they play for.
The minimum you get for a "full contract", I believe, is £24,500. Some Counties pay more than this.

Unless they are going to give Jones a fair crack of seeing if he is good enough opening the batting and strengthen the team in another area.
Personally always feel it's a bit excessive to have both your overseas players as specialist batsmen.
