Was perfect opportunity to come back when he left Liverpool, he had enough money and hometown lad coming back to his club the media would have lapped it up but he fucked it.He didn’t need the money when he went to Saudi.
He didn’t need the money when he went to Ajax for £70k-£85k a week plus bonuses.
He quite happily took the money, though.
But suddenly, some think he’ll come to us for £3 a week and a packet of Haribo ‘ cos he loves us’
Aye, right.
no, the decision was terrible, but that doesn’t make him a terrible person. I’d like to see him acknowledge it was a poor decision though.Play it down as if didn't happen, Roger.
Has beensHim just being there would be the unacceptable face of the grass always being greener elsewhere. We need to somehow stop the rot. Accepting back has beens on bender knees is not the answer.
I suppose the reveal video is easy, especially for the Euros. He’s comin home, Hendo’s comin home

I did say on another part that from a purely footballing standpoint he would still have a lot to offer. It’s just the political history bit I feel uncomfortable with, and no I’m not at all bothered by the Saudi episode.Has beensf***ing hell man

Everyone seems to have forgiven Ivan Toney…
Yeah I do think that'd be a real possibility, whilst his ability with the ball has always been massively under-rated by his critics the biggest asset to his game was his ability to press opposing players and win the ball back quickly and if he's lost anything in his legs it takes away a big part of what made him so effective at his peak. He clearly had a pretty rapid drop-off during his last 18 month or so at Liverpool and by all accounts was rubbish both in Saudi and for Ajax last season.I have nothing against the lad but Leadbitter's second stint with us was pants. If Henderson came back I can see a similar situation.
Agreed. Henderson would be a cut above the championship like Leadbitter was a cut above league one. He was pretty ineffective if we’re being honest and the championship these days is full of much younger, quicker and stronger midfielders.Yeah I do think that'd be a real possibility, whilst his ability with the ball has always been massively under-rated by his critics the biggest asset to his game was his ability to press opposing players and win the ball back quickly and if he's lost anything in his legs it takes away a big part of what made him so effective at his peak. Political history? But not the Saudi episode?I did say on another part that from a purely footballing standpoint he would still have a lot to offer. It’s just the political history bit I feel uncomfortable with, and no I’m not at all bothered by the Saudi episode.
Speak for yourself. I didn't watch a moment of the world cup and got pelters for it.Everyone's principles are just important enough to forever put a good man down for a bad decision, but not quite important enough to miss the big Heavyweight title fight, The Saudi Grand Prix or the Qatar World Cup matches.
Evans was effective for us in the championship and didn’t run miles.Agreed. Henderson would be a cut above the championship like Leadbitter was a cut above league one. I think Henderson’s go to song is Paul Young’s -Wherever I lay my hat…. that’s my home
