This never happens tho does it? The lads know managers come and go.
How is it penny pinching? Mowbray will be cheaper than the next boss.Gonner - totally dispicable show by the penny pinching Frog
Dunno. Truth is Mowbray stays this summer and the clock starts ticking. He’d need a nailed on promotion push to get another 12 months and, if we miss out again, would likely need to be near the top two to see Christmas ‘24 as our manager. That’s just the job these days. If a new lad is a massive improvement, it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to make the change.Even if it was De Zerbi every change is a gamble especially from overseas managers. Stick until we need to twist. We don’t need to twist.
If he’s off they’ll know who’s coming inLooks like it based on journo comments. Not sure who I’d take if he leaves tbh, was hoping we’d keep him
Why is it after every loss we get shit like this?Gonner - totally dispicable show by the penny pinching Frog
Just a myth isn’t itPlenty were saying the same after Neil walked out and that there would be a mass exodus of players wanting to leave and all were in sympathy of Neil not being backed by the club.
Yeah you’d like to think we’d have a replacement in mind if it’s been TM’s plan to leaveIf he’s off they’ll know who’s coming in
This. I’ve backed Mowbray since day one but not sure why there seems a reluctance to upgrade a manager if we have the chance. The evidence suggests this is Mowbrays level at best - not saying I want him to go here either but I certainty understand the logic of wanting to improve. He was my choice when Neil left. He’s been a great fit and the perfect man for us. I’m scared of disrupting a good atmosphere at the club and there’s a healthy fear of the unknown. But TM is a top half champ coach. Maybe a replacement is of the level of a De Zerbi, in which case the gulf will be obvious. Would be a huge call - but would probably signal that we really want to go for it. Doubt they’d undercut a new man by selling off most of his squad.
We being the club not himHes just been talking on Radio Newcastle there as if he will be here next season.
"We can only grow from this point. If we get it right in the summer,
if we recruit well and if we manage to keep more players more fit next year, this squad is good enough to compete again at the top end."
It’s a smaller scale, but many - probably including me - couldn’t see the logic of moving on Preece and getting a new keeper coach. However all chatter suggests it’s been a big step up in quality. This is a whole nother level of risk of course, but if it improves us we should consider it.This. If we had the opportunity to sign a better cb than Batth say would we pass it up just because he’s had a great season for us this year? Need to be ruthless when we have the chance if we want to keep improving.
And if we're languishing in the bottom half with team spirit vanished and a foreign manager whose never worked in this country in charge? It works both ways. Its a big risk. They may well be ruthless, but so are Watford and its not gone well for them being ruthless. We've had no stability in a long time and I fear the rollercoaster ride will start to dip again.Dunno. Too many gambles lead to losses. No guarantee the new lad will be better. Mowbray and the head scout are on good terms. We have the conditions and relationships in place for growth without the stab in the dark. Potter or someone with experience in this league maybe. We just played hoofball town it isn’t like Europe. The clock is ticking but can be given a longer life.Dunno. Truth is Mowbray stays this summer and the clock starts ticking. Call the poliss Mr. PC. Argh sorry you are a pc . I'm confused.WTF’s this xenophobic shite like?
I’m just reacting to what he’s stated to have said. He’s gone if that’s true.So some on this board have decided he’s goneffs
Of course there isn’t but theres also no guarantee Mowbray can improve us from here. Look at his time at Blackburn. I am all for giving Mowbray another season rather than unnecessary risk but if an option comes up that we deem a better coach who can take us to the next level we should take it. In the exact same way we would for any player.Too many gambles lead to losses. No guarantee the new lad will be better. Mowbray and the head scout are on good terms. His post match interview suggested nothing about leavingI’m just reacting to what he’s stated to have said. He’s gone if that’s true.
