Tony Mowbray Rumour

The ambition, or lack thereof, shown with this appointment is a damning indictment of the ownership and decision makers at SAFC.
Same goes for the fans that are trying to justify it.
Happy to just stay up and make up the numbers. Small time mentality and frankly pathetic. The mags get slated for being delusional but at least they set high expectations and don’t settle for below par mediocrity.

How is settling for mediocrity exactly and who would you go for?

He finished 8th last season and built a decent team at Blackburn.

Mowbray is a Championship version of Alladyce. Safe pair of hands, wise old head. If he keeps us in the division and gets the ball down and plays football then i've honestly no issues. Hes good a great record with getting young Prem players on loan while at Blackburn in Elliott, Khedra, Bellis-Harwood, van Heck.

It's also delusional to think the board are going to sanction 50k + weekly wages for the likes of Sean Dyche.

Be nice if they did, but we know their thinking on it, so this is the level we are operating at.

And Diack

Just my opinion like but after time to sit and think about it, a reckon he's a decent fit for us.
I'm the same now.

Still in disbelief at Neil and his timing (I don't understand why he couldn't see this game through and went on Monday), but Mowbray could be a good fit for us.

Mowbray gets my backing if he comes, but people trying to dress this up as a good appointment are kidding themselves

Can't see the problem at all. Last time we were in this league we dropped out of it like a stone, after 4 god awful years we are back at this level and the number one priority is staying here. Its largely still a young and relatively inexperienced squad but clearly with a fair degree of talent. Needs a safe pair of hands to negotiate a long season through the championship waters. Good luck to the man.

Neil's gone for money and that's it.

Mowbray knows North East football and what it means to us up here, he won't take no shite and loves giving youth a try. Could do alot worse that's for sure.

I think Mowbray is a fine signing given the circumstances and time crunch here with the transfer window closing soon. I hope he can keep us competitive and buys into the plan to continue to build the roster with youth. Perhaps in time with more time permitting, this club can find a young manager who can grow with the club successfully

think his persona of being and absolute miserable bassa is clouding our judgement.. i remb him being a propa no nonsence player and to be fair alex was as dull as dishwater.. so its the dishwater wars..

are you his agent.. ive never seen him smile once even a little murmer..
His face was complete dead pan . Don't think his letter box mouth has the ability to curl. He was just a genuine charachter . Funny thing is his face hasn't changed since that day he's always looked 58
