Tony Davison vs Methven -

If you swear in front of women in the workplace you have no class. Only pimps and soft men do it.

What a load of utter bollocks, I thought woman were shouting from the rooftops for equality in the workplace? Surely that’s equality when things are going badly aswell as when things are going well. If someone isn’t doing their job very well, whether they’re a man or a woman, then telling them so is the best way. If she can’t handle a dressing down with a couple of swear words thrown in then maybe a senior position at one of the country’s top football clubs isn’t the job for her.

Women probably make men blush these days.

the increase in reveue frkom other sources than broadcasting rights ad gate money..
rthe concerts and the business club..

he rbought in vastly more revenue than his salary..which should be the ojective measure of a sales guy..

out of his depth at what? tv preseting?

his target revenue was £15.5m..he brought in over £20m...left and got a job doing the same thing elsewhere..
4.5m ahead of target. How much of that was down to him? £1m was the checkatrade final, play off final decent chunk too. How did he contribute to the rest? You know more than me...

Maybe he was brought up properly.
And that's not an answer either, that's just an assertion that you think he's right - and like him, you've not provided any reason or justification...

I'm not sure that being brought up to think of women as incapable of/too fragile to hear swear words constitutes a correct moral education. It's implicit sexism, even though people of a certain generation may be oblivious to it.

CM went missing at half time when Fleetwoods henchmen threatened him after he went in their faces for our equaliser last season. Not that hard :/
Must have thought he was in a room full of women for a second

Did you read that in the guardian? :D

No, I just live in the 21st century. Women can work now, homosexuality isn't illegal, Thrace no longer exists and we don't have an Empire any more. Perhaps if you spoke to any women about this, rather than interjecting on their behalf, you'd realise how ridiculous, demeaning and archaic lot of them think it is.

Well I’m sorry if you think I sound old fashioned but I think methven comes across as a bully.

Football fans in general though isn't. Win games and you can do what you want, wear pink trousers, have a pint with fans and that's fine. Lose a few games and you're a twat for doing those same things.

I think the biggest mistake SD has made was having faith in Ross.
Spot on. That post sums it all up.

Ross lost the plot from Christmas last season. No striker in a Wembley final and sitting back defending leads. He blew it.

I think he maybe did, to an extent. I think his heart was in the right place though, and I think he was completely frustrated by negative staff constantly huffing and puffing - at least that's how it looked to me. The woman you're talking about (who he was a bit rude to at half time) seemed to be always complaining, rolling her eyes and reluctant.

He definitely did snap a little bit, I think he just wanted to get on with it and want to tell her to stop putting up objections. He's her boss, he's asked to do something that needs doing immediately, just get on and do it.

Probably wondering why this man was trying to bully her.

He certainly could've spoken to her better than he did, but like I say, it is one of those moments where he didn't have time for her pontificating and huffing. He just needed a rough number so he could use it to speak to the crowd at HT, he needed to know immediately, and from what I remember she kept trying to tell him things he already knew instead of just doing it. His professionalism went out the window a bit.

A dressing down in front of 46,900 or 47,200 people , it doesn’t really matter does it ?

Dont get the hate some fans have for Methven.

Not a big fan of him, but spoke the truth mainly from what I saw.
Got frustrated a bit and forgot to say please 2 or 3 times, but painting him as a modern day Vlad the Impaler cos he was a bit sharp with that Irish lass over the BD crowd is laughable in my book.
He might have even apologised to her later, who knows? Has no one on here lost temper with Mother/wife/daughter/girlfriend and then apologised later like?

Oh ffs man, like they knew what was going on.
Probably wondering why this man was trying to bully her.

From what I saw of that lass, the Pope would have got frustrated with her, never mind Charlie.

Didn’t see any professionalism. He’s a blagger

I think there's maybe half a dozen people in football who aren't simply massive bluffers and chancers. The likelihood of us getting one who isn't is virtually zero.

You are dodging bullets left, right and centre.
I know it’s a TV documentary however everyone questions the real reasons on why you purchased the club in the first place. Both you and Donald would have known the extent of the financial risk in the due diligence process and there was one conducted.
Your Plan A never came off and a Plan B was never in place. 6% and quit not a bad return for you but you will go down in Sunderland history as a chancer and failure.
