Thoughts on Everton's new ground?

Access - 6/10: decent, if a bit far from the city centre.
Stadium bowl - 10/10: superb, despite being full of scousers.
Concourse - 4/10: somehow they made them worse than ours, which takes some effort.

Im not really a fan of how everyone os in separate blocks, i love that we have a concourse you walk all the way round and go see marras all around the ground

I think our concourse and stadium overall is better.
The stands seem very steep and where I was the view wasn't great.

Im much happier in the sol. That place i felt like i was off to see a pop concert not a footy match, and totally agree with the steepness, nearly went ower when we scored and think its souless as owt.

I think our concourse and stadium overall is better.
The stands seem very steep and where I was the view wasn't great.

I wasn’t quite at Albert dock. Parked my car at an industrial estate about 10 mins from there. Was 15 to the ground so no more than 30 if your were to walk to Albert dock. Mind getting away was much busier, that road heading back that way is extremely congested.

40 mins but I hobble a bit, parked at the ibis hotel , chew on getting back to the m62 afterwards

Thought it was canny average all things considered. The atmosphere was poor, but perhaps that's just down to their fans sitting in silence. That said I don't think the sound seemed to carry well.

The toilet situation was a bit of a joke, hardly any urinals and took ages to get served.

Fan zone/dj outside the ground was canny.

On TV, that was their playlist at half and full time was from any stadium ever. The sound of it certainly carried to the telly. Drek old songs, sentimental shite. Apart from Z cars, that's been their song for decades so I'll give them that one.

Think you need to consider that it was the early stages of the FA Cup. Everton need credit for the stadium being pretty full, but there was a lack of atmosphere.

Stadium was decent. Good views, pleasant walk from the city centre. The lack of toilets was odd.

Said it elsewhere but that goal celebration showed how loud it could be imo. Guessing when they play Liverpool it’ll be a proper racket.

Early kick offs at the SOL are normally a bit shit as well atmosphere wise.

I wonder why architects dont design roofs on new stadium's to come downwards like older school grounds that helps keep the noise in rather that it disappearing, spurs the same , seems they depend loads of time on the rake etc and forget it’s the noise that is the importsnt thing in a footee stadium , the fulwell and many others the roof would pitch upwards then downwards again which seems to help bounce the crowd noise down onto the pitch area, and could they not have roofs to overhang more past the pitch line? With tech the roof materials could still let sunlight in , or even retract when the game is not going on, I probably think about that in too much depth tbf

It may be to do with the pitch - getting air flow round the bowl or summat. I don't know, I'm not a stadium expert but some of the first of the 'new' stadiums had poor pitches due not just to lack of light but also airflow issues.

Haven’t read past the first post. Will, but I’ll hoy bit in first. Outs De bit was great. However, we don’t need to emulate that.

Getting a pint 45mins before kick off was horrendous. The supervisor said he knew it was shite. Having a piss. 4 urinals when you could have squeezed in 15.

Considering it’s a new ground, what a f***ing shite design.

Our home fans are very reactive rather than bouncing around with drums and flags during the game.

If there is something to cheer about on the pitch, a crap ref giving everything the oppositions way or we're the underdog / fighting for our lives the home crowd is fantastic.

If its midtable with little jeopardy or we're playing awful football we can be quiet. Mind its like that at most English grounds these days.

Was like that at Goodison as well its nothing new.

I noticed this, it sounds so shit! It's like the club moved with the times stadium - wise, but the gadgy in charge of the stadium music just kept playing his old records from Goodison.
