Similar thing happened to my Dads Ford Escort. Got nicked from outside the pub. I had been playing football and driving home and i spotted it parked up in Stanley on a side road as we were driving past. It was locked at the pub and also in Stanley where it had been dumped. Now that is a considerate car thief

About three years back i was on a team looking into vehicle crime, cane back that approximately 40% of it was to unlocked vehicles. With the popularity now of keyless entry that will be so much higher.

I worked in insurance claims before, the figure was closer to 65% within our company. Its quite unbelievable how many daft kernts admit it as well, resulting in a rejected claims.
