The Space Shuttle That Fell To Earth

Seem to remember people were out trying to get souvenirs of bits of shuttle etc.. Didn't the government make it a federal offence to be in possession of any bits?
Awful tragedy 😔

Anybody else watched it? Fascinating and uncomfortable viewing in equal measure.

p.s. For licence payers only.
saw the first one. controller saying while he was there every mission got delayed, scrubbed, etc, as they had to keep fixing everything as it was falling to bits. at the end of the ep, saying they saw the puff of smoke come off so they knew something was wrong even though it went up.

Interesting watch.

Great interviews with the people involved.

To think if some had taken the incident more seriously there could have been a chance to save all on board.

Seemed to be to scared to make a decision.

Similar thing happened with Challenger - one of the engineers new that shouldn’t be launched due to the cold but he couldn’t convince his boss to tell NASA it want safe to launch.

Sadly, it seemed like the people that had massive reservations about the re-entry were the ones that had no voice when it mattered.

The risk of losing their careers was too great to speak up and be heard.
