Are you on about us yellow? It was never a red man
Look at the rules, stud's up, over the top of the ball, not in control, this dangerous tackle.

It should have been a red.

The ref was bad, but for both teams.

We just seem to attract all the bet refs don't we. How do we protect the club from that?

Sending a lad off for talking, that's not right.

The game is going to shit and I would happilly stay in this league until they sortr out the Prem because a team like Newcastle can spank a wonderful club like PSG 4-1 simply becfause they are owned by an Oil nation.

This is entirely predictable.

Years and years on here I read refs been too soft and not standing up to players calling them and been called soft pricks.

Yet when he does stands up to players guess what he is still a prick!!!

No wonder refs can’t win!!

Refs should stand up to players calling them but of course not to Sunderland players!!!
Would you book someone for saying that’s a f***ing foul?

There's no technically about it , it is the rule , he applied the rule,he is wrong if he does and he's wrong if he doesn't, you can't have it both ways , they should apply the rule all the time , Neil was out of order and rightly got punished.
Last minute of the half in a derby atmosphere, how about the referee reads the occasion and gives him a warning like 99% of referees would. Instead the referee made it all about him.

He wasn't swearing at the ref.He was using an expletive as a adjective. Saying "You're f***ing useless" is dissent. What Dan said is what's usually called industrial language, and refs normally ignore it.

The referee has clearly thought it was directed at him. Which he followed up with the booking. He will probably look back and realise what a mistake he made.

It wasn’t a red card man. Not sure what point you’re trying to make? The ref was shit but it simply wasn’t a red

Probably not though it was a tad harsh if he just said that.

However it was very unprofessional of a professional footballer player to do that while already on a yellow card and game standing at 0 0.

Is being unprofessional a bookable offensive? I’ve not seen the match report yet what was official reason Neil received a yellow??

How about a professional footballer reading the fact he on a yellow card and been more disciplined.

I wouldn’t either some would that’s the problem we need rules and consistency from those above VAR is a prime example of referees work on opinions they need more guidance
