I agree with that, it is a bigger priority and if this plane idea stops me doing that then I'm dead against it. It doesn't.

The really embarrassing thing to do now would be to cancel this idea because we were hammered at the weekend, especially as the Mags already complained to GoFundMe to try and get it stopped.

Can I just put on record my belief that's it's an absolutely huge milky tit of an 'idea' regardless of league position, it would be if it was them and it is when it's 'us' ... A massive pointless udder.

Fill yer boots, in the meantime I'll try and understand where the pleasure and humour kicks in.

Nobody outside the NE will give a monkeys man. Plenty with have a chuckle about the banner and that's about it as far as it comes.

Fans around the country had banners and celebrated with songs when the mags went down. Nee one has given a fuck when we've gone down only cos of the 15 and 19 points have we even raised a modicum of interest. The same will happen again if we go down and our reputation will return after we've spent 8 years trying to shake off.

Any fun is slowly being drained by all the negative comments, it was never supposed to be taken seriously it's a pisstake out of their latest protest efforts.

As I've mentioned before this attitude is doing my head in. People have donated not because they want to give money to charity but because they want to see a plane fly over st James. This "I dont agree with it therefore give it to charity" stance is a joke, I'd be f***ing raging if I'd donated towards the plane and then, after raising the funds, my money was suddenly diverted to charity instead. If you don't like it, maybe you should offer to refund everyone that gave money to it?

For what it's worth I haven't donated, I'm not convinced its a great idea but attitudes like yours, and tyne valley black cat basically sounding like an utterly self important arsehole, have got me hoping the lads in favour stick to their guns and do it

So it is sacrosanct? If it was them we'd be negative and taking the piss, I see no reason to get behind something i think ridiculous, and every reason to laugh at it not with it.

It's actual execution means nowt to me ... Enjoy your 12 days of excited anticipation, it must be like Christmas.

I have no problem with people laughing at it and you don't need to get behind it, I've had a laugh at some of your comments on this thread but you have to admit some of the comments are getting a bit boring now.

That's a messageboard though ... people will give their opinion and continue to do so as others give theirs to counter it - just ignore any you can't be arsed with as there is no way anyones opinion is going to change, this isn't something that people will be rationally convinced about with reason and logic. I do enjoy the personal attacks on others though, it's like people really really care about their plane.

I don't know if it's been suggested, but probably the best thing to do would be to forget it and give the money to charity.

I think you might be the first ;)

One persons opinion did change when they were reminded about the way they still try and throw 5-1 in our faces after all these years and they ended up donating but you're right most people who have an opinion about the plane probably won't change that now. My opinion is most people don't have an opinion about whether it goes ahead or not.

As GG mentioned above it absolutely would not. Those who have all donated, have donated in the belief there would be a plane. If that idea gets dropped and the money goes elsewhere then that is totally against what everybody donated for in the first place. I certainly wouldn't be happy.

If you don't like it then just tut and shake your your head on the day, make sure you tell everybody you know that it wasn't done with your blessing, and you are the uberest of uber fans, but people can't be demanding the money goes elsewhere when it's not even their money to begin with.

You should stage a counter-stunt. Maybe a marionette attached to a drone, doing some interpretative dance about how the social construct of partisanship serves to fracture class unity.

That's just a basic outline. The whole thing needs to a great deal more thought to ensure that it's absolutely perfect.

I think they have all chipped in to get a 2nd plane a few minutes after the 1st one with a banner saying 'Not in my name....Sorry for any offence'
