The Pep myth

Well considering the champions league is the bread and butter for that level then yes he's under achieved. Could say Ferguson definitely did in that respect. Look at ancelotti he's won it how many times with how many clubs, he literally goes in to do win it

Ancellotti is the ONLY manager to have won more Champions League trophies than Guardiola? Does that mean everyone apart from Ancelotti has underachieved? It's hard enough to win it once, let alone multiple times.

Insane the amount of disrespect he gets because he’s ’always had money or the best players’

Started at Barca B where he took them up a level and would have had them in La Liga if the rules allowed it.

Binned off Deco, Ronaldinho and a few others to bring in previously unknown Busquets and Pedro etc to create perhaps the best team anyone’s ever seen.

Bayern fans still respect him as the best football they’ve ever played.

Untouchable regarding his Prem record, had one transition season and one where Liverpool had to get 100 points to beat him.

He’s arguably the best coach/manager of all time.

The money facade is ridiculous, the best teams usually spend the most. Ferguson spent £50m on Veron and Van Nistelrooy and didn’t win the league. Back when £50m was a big deal
Best team ever

Come back to me when you’ve heard of Di Stefano sky boy son

Lance Armstrong Lance Armstrong Lance Armstrong. That's all man city are and will be remembered for. Bayern he didn't win the champions league, it's par to win the German League. Barca he had the pick of the golden generation of Spanish football along with in many eyes, the greatest player to ever play the game in Messi.

There’s a difference between ‘had the pick of the Golden Generation’ and turned them into it.

Look at what Xavi and Iniesta were doing before he was put in charge. Xavi was playing CDM where he was too small and unsuited, Iniesta was arguably on his way out. He put in an unknown from the academy and turned them into a midfield three that teams 13 years on are still trying to replicate.

It’s lazy as owt to just say ‘oh well, he had to them there’ bit like saying Fergie got insanely lucky to have the class of ‘92. He still had the balls to bin off Ince, Kanchelskis, Parker etc and get them playing
Well of course. But football is a relative game

It’s some argument. Our league one team were better than the cup winning sides.

Obviously not, it’s different to compare era’s though.

But I’d hazard they’d give them a good game particularly in the last 20 minutes given the advancements

The league one team would easily beat the 73 team.

The league one team weren’t better

He's been an amazing manager - arguably the GOAT - revolutionising football and his teams producing the best football ever. All this however, makes the dreadful football and strange decisions this season all the more mystifying. There were signs of this last year when they weren't particularly good to watch.

Did I say that?

Oh I’ve a feeling he’s coming to the end of another cycle and he’s gonna need 1 or 2 years out. Probably needed it for a few years now.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they got away with the charges and he pissed the league next year and then that’s him done with football, or at least for a bit.

You said

“The sides of the last 25 years would murder those from yesteryear”

That’s absolutely true. But you argued that’s a reason for your 5 best teams of all time.

That doesn’t make them better teams

The Sunderland league one team would beat the Real Madrid team of the 60s.

It’s an absolutely ridiculous argument
