Why not?
Because it wouldn't happen now. A premier league winning manager wouldn't drop so low

Why not?
He can do what he likes and yes he clearly is a good manager.
I just don't buy into all the bullshit about being the best manager ever and reinventing the game.
Dalglish? Mind, it was the old First Division then came back and won the Premier league with Blackburn getting them up.Because it wouldn't happen now. A premier league winning manager wouldn't drop so low
Don't get into all that bollocks like high press, progressive carries, positional play and other such shite.Did you get a chance to read up on positional play?

Exactly so pretty much the same era as Clough.Dalglish? Mind, it was the old First Division then came back and won the Premier league with Blackburn getting them up.
Mourinho? Tottenham are the perennial underachieversExactly so pretty much the same era as Clough.
Only person you could label it against would be Ranieri. He was in twilight of his career. A premier league winning manager in there prime doesn't drop to a middle table side
Howard Wilkinson? Lawrie McmenemyNone but loads will have worked their way up and proved they're good managers.
Mourinho? Tottenham are the perennial underachievers
If you can call: Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea again and Man Utd a career slumpHe didn't go Chelsea Spurs did he there was a slow career slump before he gets to Spurs
His reputation had certainly taken a hit, mainly by the Man United stint but the second Chelsea end wasn’t glorious, probably not helped by modern football where you have to play a certain way and your judged on very recent results with social media impact etc so it was no longer a positive that he could come in somewhere have them firing early doors but would largely have pissed everyone off by season 3, really in modern day football and the fact managers get sacked pretty quickly anyway you’d think it might be considered a decent trait to come in as mr quick fixIf you can call: Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea again and Man Utd a career slump
He’d win the league again with Chelsea through mate as well as with Real Madrid with record points iirc and the treble at Inter Milan. Man Utd was a failure but he still finished second and won the UEFA Cup.His reputation had certainly taken a hit, mainly by the Man United stint but the second Chelsea end wasn’t glorious, probably not helped by modern football where you have to play a certain way and your judged on very recent results with social media impact etc so it was no longer a positive that he could come in somewhere have them firing early doors but would largely have pissed everyone off by season 3, really in modern day football and the fact managers get sacked pretty quickly anyway you’d think it might be considered a decent trait to come in as mr quick fix

Considering he failed at Real, Manchester Utd and Chelsea yeah it was a slump
He won the league at Real Madrid with a record points total and also won it again with Chelsea. Man Utd didn’t go as planned but he still finished second and won the UEFA Cup so, not really.Considering he failed at Real, Manchester Utd and Chelsea yeah it was a slump
Won the League and League cup at 2nd Chelsea stint
Won the League, Copa Del Rey and Spanish Super Cup with Madrid
Done the Double at Utd and had the record for the highest amount of points for 2nd place - Obviously beaten by now but at the time it was.
Hardly a slump. You can dislike the guy but a slump is the last word I'd use.
Acheiving what he did with Utd with the likes of Jesse Lingaard who became so un-wanted he ended up f***ing off to Korea, the man's an actual genius.
It was a slump
Never reached a champions league final with Real. Won one league titile in 3 seasons, lost the copy del rey final in his last season
Goes Chelsea wins the league but then loses 9 out of 16 games the season after
Goes Man Utd and wins a Europa league, that is not success.
Man Utd are England's most successful club winning the Europa is not the assignment.
His career was very much going downwards fast
Haway have you seen the state of Man Utd squad he inherited though. Jesse Lingaard sums it all up, when no one in Europe wants you, never mind the Premier League. He ended up going for the trusted old guard in Zlatan to carry them all and it all panned out nicely and took the team to it's absolute limit he couldn't do anymore.
