You sound dullMichael Scott > David Brent
The American Office is funnier, more watchable over longer periods, and Michael Scott is one of the greatest characters created (after season 1).

It's brilliantTraining day is possibly the greatest comedy episode ever, imo like.
You sound dull
Completely agreeI like both of them but once you get past series 1 of the US office it is much better than the UK version.
Dwight has to be one of the best characters in any tv show ever
Training day is possibly the greatest comedy episode ever, imo like.
There's a training day on both the UK and the US versions. Quite different approaches but both are brilliant in their own right.Rocky is correct.
The whole thing is superb, but there are some amazing bits of subtlety amongst the obvious, particularly when Brent wont let the trainer have the last word, to the point where the trainer says "thats lunch" and Brent responds with a single strum on the guitar. Sensational writing.
Training day is possibly the greatest comedy episode ever, imo like.
Get their attentionThere's been a rape up there

Agree on the xmas special, prob is with yank stuff its still all teeth and nicenessVery different shows in my opinion. I do like the American version but ours beats it hands down. Also the greatest comedy Christmas special ever for me
Frey bentos, comedy goldHave to agree with rocky. Training day is superb followed closely by the quiz episode for me.
He's thrown a kettle over a pub! What have you done
I liked the US one better once Michael Scott left, took a few episodes to get going but allowed the other characters to grow.
Start from season 2 mate. The first season they basically copied the uk office but when they start season two it comes into its own and is really funny.I didn't get more than 15 minutes past the first American episode, as they had just stolen the script almost word for word from Gervais' version. However, lots of people think the US version is good so fair enough.
Is the wrong answer. Although James Spader is tremendous in everything.I liked the US one better once Michael Scott left, took a few episodes to get going but allowed the other characters to grow.
as few have said, they're 2 completely different shows really, US office pisses all over the British one from a great height, I'm probably biased though as the sight of Ricky Gervais sends me into a furious rage.
