The Hundred - Free tickets

Really what to people expect, it’s a brand new tournament that a lot of money has been spent on and they want it to be successful, all involved.

Of course they going to promote it, of course they going to show kids and families in the ground enjoying themselves and make out the atmosphere is good, of course they going to state the quality of cricket is good.

Of course there will be some over the top comments to promote it.

It’s a new concept that is designed to get more people involved!

What to people expect the pundits, commentators and TV companies to do?

‘ This is crap this’ ‘ it’s no different from the blast’ ‘ crowds less than the blast’ ‘ don’t bother watching it!

Just like any new business or any new venture of course it’s going to be promoted to the hilt and people involved are going to make it look exciting to get them new people into the game they want.

I find it staggering anybody with any business brain would think or expect anything else!!
The propaganda is staggering. Heard on radio one email being read out, without comment, saying: “Cricket’s needed this for years with the falling attendances in county cricket.” T20 Blast crowds are bigger than this travesty.
How the shills have the brass neck to be so Pravda-like is beyond me.

And there we have it.

Shit cricket = great cricket, because it's the 16.4
Poor crowds = full house, because it's the 16.4

The 16.4: It doesn't matter what your eyes see, it's all brilliant all of the time.

That’s not what I am saying, I am saying it’s common sense to promote a new venture to the hilt, surely anyone can see that.

Its cricket so they will be good and bad games and good crowds and bad crowds attendances in the hundred the same as other formats, that’s not just cricket that’s any sport so of course I don’t see all games brilliant.

But if people expect anything else than a full on big it up from the people involved they naive in the extreme.

Think it was you that said it’s a massive risk to spend all this money, let’s say that is right, then of course they going to do everything in their power to promote it and make it look exciting?

That's exactly what you said.

I'm not naive, I know full well they are going to lie about the quality of the cricket and the crowds. I knew before it started when they had to lie to justify it. The whole thing is built on bullshit. That's fine with you, OK. It's not fine with me.

The point been, nobody with a grain of common sense is going to spend a shit load of money on something to get new people involved without promoting it to the hilt.

That’s what I said above in them comments, yet amazingly posters seem surprised it’s happening and annoyed it’s happening.

When it was obvious it would happen!

They is not a tv employee in the land, who is going to say this is shit why don’t you turn it off and watch something else.

Yeah, they wouldn't have been able to have double headers but the fans of ne England wouldn't have totally missed out. They should have at least had a 1 or 2 games at Durham given this team supposedly represents us.
Aye definitely agree with that

We know you're right behind this, but take a step back and look at what you're writing and what you're justifying.

It shouldn't sit well with any cricket fan to hear terrible cricket described as fantastic, just because it's a new competition.

You missing my point, I am not justifying it!

I am saying it was always going to happen, what did people expect?

You are man! People should expect games to be called properly, and when it isn't they should say so.

Maybe this is why they told cricket fans not to watch, can't have people who know a bit about the game calling out the bullshit.

‘ This is crap this’ ‘ it’s no different from the blast’ ‘ crowds less than the blast’ ‘ don’t bother watching it!

So you want people to lie and say it’s mint even if they think it isn’t?

Are you the government? Wanting suppression of voices and opinions?

Ladies and gentlemen, the ECB.

I don’t want people to do anything other that have a grain of common sense that all involved were going to promote it to the hilt.

Of course people are going to say games are shit when they shit (some not to far away had made their mind to say that before a ball was bowled)

However if people expect the people involved not to push the excitement up higher that it is or be more excitable to promote a new venture then they living in dreamland.

Don’t be so naive

I am not I am saying it was inevitable, that average games were going to made out better than they are.

What am I being naive about? I’m not the one losing my rag about people calling it as they see.
I am surprised people did not have the common sense to see that people commenting on the game and employed by the tv company promoting the game were not going to get excited over a new venture.

I fully expected it, but not quite to this skin crawlingly bad level.

No problem with them hyping up the 'product' but the bare faced lies are bit much for me.

Well that’s it there is different levels of it, but it was always going to be promoted massively and the people should have expected that tbh.

They were never going to air ‘ The Hundred’ as a new venture and then call it shit, it was never going to happen.

It’s about attracting a new audience!!

I’d always held cricket pundits in such high regard (certainly when compared to their football counterparts) that I thought they’d call a ‘fair game’ to be honest.

They’re sullying their own reputation. Being excited is one thing, telling blatant lies is another.
