The Hundred 2023

Phew, the farce is over and cricket can return!

Comfortable victories in two finals failed to add any real drama to a lacklustre tournament. Lots of mediocre players whacking sixes over tiny boundaries, funnelling millions of pounds out of grass roots cricket in the process. What a month!

Now, time for the international side to use the domestic structure to replenish those cash reserves. Next year's 16.4 needs paying for!

Simply embarrassing mate.

The difference between you and I is I have the good grace to give credit to other formats such as Somerset in the blast and Durham in the CC who both have been brilliant in their respective successes this season.

Where you simply can’t bring yourself to respect and appreciate some great skills and entertainment on show these last few weeks and give credit where credit due.

Not even a slight recognition for a team fighting their way back from 34 for 5 to then win a final and a tournament

It most be awful to be a person who can’t appreciate and respect good skills on show due to simple pettiness!

My main point is including Durham and all I have said above is that I can’t believe at times the negativity on the cricket board as taking in everything I have just mentioned you would think the opposite?
As I said most of your comments were fair but I thought you would have given a mention to Durham's success so far in duv 2.

I will admit to watching some of the 16.4 but only because the weather outside has been shit this month and there's bugger all else on the TV when there is no alternative cricket on.

However I still can't get into it. The graphics are confusing and stupid, the 5 ball/10 ball thing completely throws me, i cant get any connection with the teams, and it's no quicker than T20.

I do like to see the individual contest between bowler and batter as in any cricket match. I fear for the damage it does to our summer game. The Ashes was rushed through so these games could be played at the height of summer. The CC has had a month off which could result in some teams losing momentum. There were several players in this tournament didn't play a single game. Potts being one of them. Despite the alleged popularity it seems to be haemmoraging money.

Maybe as one of the "cricket dinosaurs"I'll be proved wrong in time. But at present I don't see it happening.
Ahhh back to watching the grass grow. Start your own thread for the over 70s that care.

This is the HUNDRED thread stop feeling threatened by a great tournament and cricket.

Jealous because more people attend 1 game of this than attend a whole season of county first class cricket.

Get over it my friend.
My apologies Mr Graves. I didn't realise you posted on here.

Just going off the 5 Live bulletins, apparently the women's game was an absolute kicking and the Manc Mercenaries were well behind in the men's.

Hey ho. Few million siphoned out of the county game and into the pockets of the same few dozen mediocre players, that's the reality.

Another domestic season ruined for this farce, see you all next year.

Loved the tournament this year, deserved winners in the end.

Gutted it’s finished, brilliant entertainment daily- Really enjoyed the lasses games anorl tbh.

Looking forward to some internationals now though!

Says it all.
I enjoy all cricket including the 50 over stuff and that game today seemed a cracker.

Good cricket is good cricket and if you watching a good game of a cricket at any level and any format, it’s good to recognize the skills and ability of show and praise a good performance, rather than constantly striving to have a go and find an angle to have a go at one tournament all the time it’s tiresome and petty.
And disrespectful to the brilliant players and performances of the players in the hundred.

It looks to me that when exactly the same players play in the CC or The Blast they good players and good quality and get praised by some on here.

Yet when exactly the same players play in The Hundred they is a angle found at all costs to not praise them and say the quality shit.

Makes total sense ;)
