The atmosphere at home these days

See what you're saying. But it was the first home match since the owners took the utter piss out of its own fans. Once we went behind there was only one way it was going to go. And I don't blame the fans one bit for it.

Like I have said before, the fans have turned on the ownership and manager and they want them gone. It's hard to come back from that and while you're right we should support the lads, it's difficult to when we're constantly being shit on and laughed at.

I understand that mate but I think people have just had enough now to be honest and are trying to send a message to those in power.

A club of this size should not be limping along to a mid-table finish in the second tier.

I could hear the frustration with Bellingham on the tele. He was poor again yesterday but I suspect he is (rightly or wrongly) being singled out because he is a symbol of Speakman’s involvement at the football club.
I agree with all of that mate. I’m also aware of why people are fed up etc but it’s an issue at home even when we’ve been doing relatively well, the atmosphere is very very poor at the SOL barring one game every year or so if there’s a lot on the line.

Agreed. Just felt like a culmination of absolutely shite atmospheres at home for years for me. It’s just getting worse season on season regardless of what’s going on off the pitch also.

It hasn't been bad all seasons but its a lottery . I hear the singing from other areas but the " singing end " didn't work
What doesn't help ..
Time and day of kick off
Everyone I know is ill
4 out of 5 of us there last night are.
Our play has become dull and uninspiring .
An effort, a bit of flair ,grit ,a bad ref etc all fire the crowd up
I agree on booing but two of my gang were very negative last night and it's not like them
No boos mind ,just towards our effort and Beale

Oh aye it's not been great for a number of years. But last night there was just nothing. Even the south stand were the quietest I've heard in a while. We're all absolutely sick as fuck

I don't think many people wanted to be there last night. The three of us were certainly just there out of habit tbh. Everyone knew the football was going to be absolutely shit to watch. Everyone knew when they scored we were beaten. And the club haven't helped themselves when it comes to atmosphere by wearing down a supporters' group who were set up to try and improve it.

I’m not attempting to say any of what’s going on is the fans fault. But it’s horrendous at home. Going 1 down especially whether we’re happy with the manager or owners or any of it. It’s been absolutely shite for years. We used to have a unanimous roar of encouragement when going a goal down and even that doesn’t happen anymore.
Are you surprised?
The clubs on the worst run in it's entire history.

Unfortunately OP is correct, fans were embarrassing last night, couldn’t wait to turn it toxic and the exodus at 1-0 was pathetic. Sorry like but that’s a fact. Mowbray out, Beale out, Speakman out,KLD out. Who’s out next week?

Absolutely brutal and has been for years. At the point where it’s an embarrassment. There’s a pocket full of people in the south stand and SWC who are bothered about creating any sort of atmosphere, then the pocket at the back of the south who just want to sing anti NUFC songs. 3/4 of the ground is silent except when there’s cause for a moan, and last night was one of the worst I can remember for that. Moaning, whinging at anything that went wrong.

Nearly everyone didn’t want Beale or now want him to go, me included, but as soon as we went 1-0 down and the crowd reacted the way it did it was game over. It didn’t help a single thing. People can argue it all they like but the one thing Beale is right about is getting behind the lads on the pitch. They’re a young side who need our backing at home and don’t get it.

Take your anger out on the owners and manager in the right ways, get a protest going, do whatever you want. But when there’s a team full of young, promising, talented lads giving it their all we absolutely have to get behind them.

Looking forward to all the ‘fans fault:lol::lol:‘ replies but the reality is we as fans need to get our home atmosphere sorted out. People have been mistaken for years that decent numbers through the door is the be all and end all and it isn’t. The 10,000 at home v Lincoln was louder than the vast majority of home games in recent memory. Baffles me looking around the ground at the thousands and thousands who literally turn up and make zero effort to get behind the team at all, whether they’re playing well at the time or you’re happy with the owners or any of that. We need to collectively start to look at ways to improve the atmosphere.

Revert back to attractive attacking football ,score more goals , win more games.

It‘s a simple concept to grasp.

The first match after playing Newcastle was always going to be a huge contrast for comparison ,with probably 8 thousand missing regardless of what the embarrassing crowd announcment said is a true indicator of where we are heading .

Wish I’d stopped at home and started to watch it on the telly, I’d also guarantee I’d have switched over and not watched it all.

The away fans being at the top doesn’t help either. The atmosphere in general suffers massively. Usually a bit of crack between home and away fans gets things going or at least keeps things ticking over but we can’t even get that.

Move the away fans back into the lower bowl, reinstate the SW corner.

It’s a very complicated equation as to why things are what they are in terms of match atmosphere.
You could write a uni dissertation about the sanitisation of the game, citing the disasters, the tribalism, the money, Sky etc

Goading and hatred between sets of fans is only a very small part of the equation, and not the only answer.
A lot has changed.

We just haven’t got much to shout about. Said it before, we need to be back in the PL and not doing terribly up there to get a decent atmosphere regularly at the SoL.

after all the managers since ken knighton when i started going i've always tried to see a positive side. even the likes of grayson/parkinson/johnson i didn't mind too much because at least they looked like they gave a shit despite being pretty useless.
the only one that had absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever was moyes who i took an instant dislike to. this bloke we have at the minute is similar. the sooner the club realise it's not working and not likely to and just get rid.
