It doesn’t. It says how much they would cost

So they’ve inflation adjusted £15m in 1995 for Shearer. And £11m for Henry in 1999

It’s a pointless article, but it’s not looking at value/worth
It literally sats “calculating how much someone would cost to buy what is their worth/value” or summat tbf

Thank you!

I look at it another way - that they outspent everyone for many years, when there was only Man Utd and Arsenal as challengers, and still won zilch.

Staggering when you read the article by Chris Waugh about our other deals from the era.
Asprilla £111m (1996)
Ferdinand £93m (1995)
Ferguson £75m (1998)
Barton £62m (1995)
Batty £55m (1996)
Albert £54m (1994)
Peacock £54m (1994)

It is not the point of the article but as you mention it, it must be close.

Similar international record (RVN: 35 in 70 v AS: 30 in 63). RVN has 5 titles across three countries AS has 1.

But RVN win's in the manager stakes 32.3% win rate versus 12.5% - and zero relegation's for RVN :)
I know it is not the point of the article. I was responding to a comment that was not about the article but that Shearer was inferior to RVN.

What a load of bollocks that article is. On par with replaying games on football manager.

Still it’s stroking the Mags egos so they are in their element.
