Thank you Dan Neil

Good luck to him. MLF. Would have been interesting if he’d had more minutes this season, like Cirkin, to see if he’s learned anything from Xhaka and could make step up. Hopefully we’ll see him next season back in this division.

Good luck Dan. Shame we aren’t getting a fee but you did more than enough to earn the ability to walk away on a free after last season.

I feel sorry for Dan....Bleeds red and white. Thanks for everything. Always One of Us.
Why do you feel sorry for him he’s loved the dream n captained he’s boyhood club to promotion. He’s a good championship player so we’re letting him play at he’s level. What’s to feel sorry about?

Clearly RLB didn’t see anything in him to give him game time.

Looks like he’s gone and with the loan lasting the period of his contract it’s clear he’s kicked his last ball for the club.

Thank you Dan, you lived the dream, played for your boyhood club. Helped drag it from its lowest ebb. Won at Wembley the place of that famous picture of you in the crowd in 2014.

You always give your all, you captained the side in some tough times but played a big part in putting the club back to where we all think it should be.

Good luck in the future I hope we someday see you back at the Sol on the pitch in the premier league. Thank you for two of the best moments I’ve had following Sunderland those two play off final wins. All the best lad always red and white.
I echo your sentiments. Dan has been very much maligned by some shallow minded people, but he is a good player and hope he fulfills his potential and professional dreams.

Disappointing and surprising he wasn’t given a chance of doing it in the prem but we have to trust RLB and the hierarchy. As a local lad I would have loved to have seen him kick on and level up his game like Ballard and Hume but it’s not to be.

After the dross we had in league one he was a breath of fresh air when he came into the team and added some real class to the middle of the park. Was a pleasure to watch for the most part. Lots of highlights but for me his involvement in that goal away at reading was the best. At that point we were playing some of the most enjoyable football I’ve ever seen a Sunderland team play.

Good luck Dan lad. Hope to see you in the prem next season.
