To be fair, he's had one season and a few games, the first of which needed a massive overhaul of the entire club. No-one has any idea how this season is going to go, regardless of any takeover. If we were to win our game in hand, we'd be one point off top as it stands. Calling him incompetent is grossly unfair in my opinion. No of course we get them in. The point is on Donald’s suitability to run it once it’s done. He has failed to put together a team destined for automatic promotion across two seasons despite having a number of advantages over all other clubs at this level. He needs to improve his stewardship of the club (on the football side specifically) by a significant margin over what we’ve seen so far. Otherwise I’d happily wave him goodbye and get someone more competent in.
He’s brand new to a job of this size and will be the first to admit he has made mistakes. He does seem a quick learner and I do believe he gave Ross a good enough platform to get us promoted last year. Although it looks like SD is being loyal to Ross at the minute, I’ve no doubt he will sack him is results don’t improve. No of course we get them in. I agree.
If Christopher Columbus didn't discover America, SD wouldn't have been able to find the investors.
It's a shambles. Stewart OUT.

He took over a club with zero debt and by far the biggest income/resources in the division. He's done a decent job of shipping people out - albeit helped by the likes of Ndong and Papy being f***ing stupid - but this 'saved the club' narrative is overblown. Despite the advantages available to us we've regressed since summer 18 on the pitch and the majority of big decisions on the footballing side look poor currently.
He sanctioned the spending of a fortune on a panic buy in January then has bleated on about sustainability since. The cost-cutting has continued through the summer to the point where the club is basically a shell and desperate for investment.
People can take the view that that's great but it's a pretty big gamble and certainly jars with the idea of sustainability. If they pull off the sale then that's good but it doesn't mean the club was headed on the right tracks. As others have said, will be interesting to see how long the current crop are left in place

Of course he’s made mistakes and he’s admitted as such. It’s possible for most to acknowledge that, while also recognising the good stuff he’s done. Then there are those who won’t and haven’t pretty much from the start given him any credit for anything. They took an instant dislike and formed an instant mistrust and have never really budgedIs it slagging him off or just having a differing opinion? I genuinely think he's trying his best and he is doing what he thinks is for the best however he hadsmade mistakes. The recruitment side of the club is, quite frankly, a joke.
Senior players? I don’t think they did like. They signed 8. We signed 10. Then they signed more players in January.
I bet you can’t find one person who thought Grigg was a panic buy when we got him. The price was excessive but the player looked an excellent purchase at this level. He took over a club with zero debt and by far the biggest income/resources in the division. There would have been criticism from the same people criticising the Grigg signing if we hadn’t signed him because they weren’t willing to spend. We desperately needed a striker. We spent the whole window (once Maja left) pursuing arguably the most proven striker at our level of football. We managed to get him in and for some reason it didn't work. If we didn't bring him in it'd be "Why didn't he get Grigg when we had the funds" or if we brought someone else in it'd be "we should have got Grigg for just a couple million more".
We've dealt with Maddison in the complete opposite way by instead choosing to wait out his contract rather than paying the £2.5m for (arguably) a player we desperately need, yet people are still having a go at SD for this.
He can't win.
Works both ways that though Janey. Some just can't see any mistakes.Of course he’s made mistakes and he’s admitted as such. And who do you think negotiated that?

No that’s the opposite of what I’m saying. The most important part of running a football club is the quality of decision making on the football side. Donald’s has not been good enough. He appears unable to get Safc out of league one on its own steam. It seems it will need the money of billionaires to compensate for the poor football decisions made over his tenure as owner.

This is the biggest chance for success at Safc in our lifetimes. This whole period should be about questioning each and every aspect of Safc as to whether it is fit for purpose. Donald is very much a part of this discussion. Characterising it as ‘slagging him off’ is incredibly weak tbh. He may be a very nice fella and he certainly seems to have the clubs interests at heart but there absolutely should be questions about his competence moving forward. The quality of football decision making since he bought the club has been poor, quite simply. There should be NO barrier for Safc fans to talk about this - regardless of the timing.I disagree.
I definitely disagree at the timing of some slagging him off during a period of what could be the most monumental for our club, which has been orchestrated by Stewart and Charlie.
Each to their own.
