Takeover Rumours

You're right, he should have told them he wasn't interested as they had too much money.

He should narrowed his filter down to between zero and 50 million on Findaninvester.com
English not your first language marra? You seem to be struggling with comprehension.

No. He specifically said he needs more investment in the championship. He said he was fine in league one. That he doesn’t appear able to get Safc out of league one on its own steam is not very impressive - particularly when he has told us many times that we have the biggest budget ever seen in this league. As things stand I don’t see an automatic promotion team at Safc. We’re playoffs at best. I also don’t see the quality of decision making to recognise this and put it right in January. It is going to take the additional funds (and additional pressure) that comes with MSD to get us up this season. That doesn’t reflect well on Donald’s decision making from a purely football perspective.
Should we wait until we're promoted on the off chance these fella's will still be available? They could easily take over someone else in the meantime. Chance of investment like this doesn't come around very often, if at all. Get them on board whichever league we're in.

Think the point is that if SD hadn't found these investors we'd be staring down the barrel in a sense, as he's not proven good enough to run the club well to date.

You can commend finding the investment while also saying that they've failed on the pitch to date

No that’s the opposite of what I’m saying. The most important part of running a football club is the quality of decision making on the football side. Donald’s has not been good enough. He appears unable to get Safc out of league one on its own steam. It seems it will need the money of billionaires to compensate for the poor football decisions made over his tenure as owner.

I disagree.

I definitely disagree at the timing of some slagging him off during a period of what could be the most monumental for our club, which has been orchestrated by Stewart and Charlie.

Each to their own.

Do you think he's done a bad job so far, considering the mess he took over?

No of course we get them in. The point is on Donald’s suitability to run it once it’s done. He has failed to put together a team destined for automatic promotion across two seasons despite having a number of advantages over all other clubs at this level. He needs to improve his stewardship of the club (on the football side specifically) by a significant margin over what we’ve seen so far. Otherwise I’d happily wave him goodbye and get someone more competent in.

I agree.

If Christopher Columbus didn't discover America, SD wouldn't have been able to find the investors.

It's a shambles. Stewart OUT.

Is it slagging him off or just having a differing opinion? I genuinely think he's trying his best and he is doing what he thinks is for the best however he hadsmade mistakes. The recruitment side of the club is, quite frankly, a joke.

He took over a club with zero debt and by far the biggest income/resources in the division. He's done a decent job of shipping people out - albeit helped by the likes of Ndong and Papy being f***ing stupid - but this 'saved the club' narrative is overblown. Despite the advantages available to us we've regressed since summer 18 on the pitch and the majority of big decisions on the footballing side look poor currently.

He sanctioned the spending of a fortune on a panic buy in January then has bleated on about sustainability since. The cost-cutting has continued through the summer to the point where the club is basically a shell and desperate for investment.

People can take the view that that's great but it's a pretty big gamble and certainly jars with the idea of sustainability. If they pull off the sale then that's good but it doesn't mean the club was headed on the right tracks. As others have said, will be interesting to see how long the current crop are left in place
