100% mate.

As @ReaL Madras said, this is a massively complicated deal stretched between 2 countries.

From what I've been told there's also a Chinese Puzzle going on with the club personnel.
That will be the problem, the deal for We Kna Nout....I'l gan prawn crackers

Patiently?

Have they not seen this thread 😂
The former Sunderland Echo are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now....... quoting Verbatim from last nights Total sport. I wonder what Graham Anderson would say about the Echo now??????

It may have been 39 years ago and I was in short trousers then but I remember so much of that day.

My dad got me the day off school (he may have said we were going up for a family funeral, but he wasn't much of a liar so he probably told the truth!). He, my uncle and me (I was ten at the time) drove up from Woking at the crack of dawn. Think we left around 6am. We were probably in Sunderland by about 10am. My uncle had a Jag and he always drove like the clappers, everywhere. When we arrived, my dad got me to surprise my Aunty Hilda who worked in a baker's (Gregg's?) in Sea Road by sending me in and asking me to find out how much her penny buns were. She had no idea we were coming up and her 'Eeeeeeeee…' went on for about two hours.

Anyway, the squad were training down at Roker Beach so we stood and watched them and then we headed off to Roker Park. Got a new Sunderland kit as well as an autograph book in the club shop, just in case. Next thing I knew, the entire team are running past me towards the changing rooms. I just didn't know what to do with myself. Whose autograph do I get? My favourite player back then was Shaun Elliott so I recall asking him as all the others flooded by. Then John Hawley came out and said 'Want me to get all the players' for you, son?' Ten minutes later, he came back out with the book absolutely full. I'll never forgot his kindness for doing that.

As for the game, I remember standing in the Paddock, Clock Stand end. Lad next to me, about my age, clocked my accent and asked 'Are you a Cockernee? Are you West Ham?' Managed to put him right. But what a night. RP was bursting at the seams, floodlights on, such noise. Seem to recall it was a fairly straightforward victory – whether that was anything to do with West Ham having been hungover after winning the Cup Final two days before, I dunno, eh?!

Just hope we've got another day coming like that soon, so my boys can experience something similar.
Lovely story. Suberb mate.

Are you saying that the most important part of running a football club having money and spending it?

Didn't Ellis Short do that?

Is the most important part not offering stability and ambition?

It seems to me he’s literally saying the opposite - that our ownership and management are so inept that they can’t get out of this league despite the massive gulf in finances between us and the likes of Charlton and Luton.

Its a joke Marra, I used to buy the echo every day when it was an evening paper, just for any latest news. I was in the newsagents at 7.30 this morning and there was tonights (today's) echo.

Just drove past the sol so I thought I’d have a drive round.
There were some people hanging around the car park on phones and a couple of separate groups heading towards the main entrance. Looked like shifty press types to me but I’m so fucked up off this take over, I’m probably adding 2 and 2 and getting 5 😩
they've let bong-eye Ryder in ?

Nor.....He who spends most money qualifies for Champs League.......fact....

I'd say yes.

Chelsea had unprecedented success despite their academy, signings and appointments rather than because of it.

They bought any young player who walked past the training ground, made some terrible signings and appointed poor managers ...

... yet the money cushioned them and permitted endless mistakes.

Give over, a decent blend is far better than many malts. It's only since Victorian times, much like tartan, that single malts have had their day. It was all about a quality blend before then.
we can agree to differ on that then. I've got a 12 year old Aberfeldy single malt waiting to be opened once this takeover is finally announced.

Biggest pile of cack ive heard that 😂 he's said from day 1 he needs more investment regardless of the leaague
No. He specifically said he needs more investment in the championship. He said he was fine in league one. That he doesn’t appear able to get Safc out of league one on its own steam is not very impressive - particularly when he has told us many times that we have the biggest budget ever seen in this league. As things stand I don’t see an automatic promotion team at Safc. We’re playoffs at best. I also don’t see the quality of decision making to recognise this and put it right in January. It is going to take the additional funds (and additional pressure) that comes with MSD to get us up this season. That doesn’t reflect well on Donald’s decision making from a purely football perspective.

As Eric Cantona recently said ..... “I love football”

No that’s the opposite of what I’m saying. The most important part of running a football club is the quality of decision making on the football side. Donald’s has not been good enough. He appears unable to get Safc out of league one on its own steam. It seems it will need the money of billionaires to compensate for the poor football decisions made over his tenure as owner.

This is pure speculation but I honestly think that these things take time and by the very nature of the transactions complexity.

I would imagine that the parties entered some form of Heads of Agreement for the private purchase of a said percentage of shares that was subject to due diligence and final ratification.

The noted individuals are individually wealthy and from what we know this is a private transaction / purchase of shares not as MSD or any of their investment arms.

MSD has a company in the UK that one of the proposed shareholders is a director of and one has resigned. As I said this won’t be that simple as we believe that that is not the model that they will use.

I suspect that they will form another company, possibly a holding company, with classifications of shares for voting rights. At a guess the formation of such would have to be ratified by MSD as part of their partnership arrangements in the USA. Furthermore, I suspect that authorities such as the SEC will be involved in the USA as the combined and individual wealth of these individuals will mean that they have fingers in multiple pies. It is also highly likely that the monies for the transactions will be subject to a whole raft of anti-money laundering / bribery / corruption / tax approvals via a team of lawyers / accountants to ensure that nothing is breached.

Then finally the structure of the holdings in the UK, dependent on how they decide to do this, it could include formation of a holding company that acquires some or all of the shares that are currently held by three individuals.

Those individuals will all have to agree as to what price they are selling for and what percentage. They will obviously have to take professional advice from their legal and accountancy third party advisors.

Voting rights and control will have to be decided which is key in any business as this ultimately is the parameters under which the company will perform.

It would more than likely, be a lot more straight forward if the purchase was outright and by one individual but that is not what we are led to believe in this case.

As stated all of the above is pure speculation but I expect that this is what the delays are attributable to, if there are in fact any delays at all. The expectation, in terms of completion, may well differ totally to those that are speculating on the outside.

Any deal is not done until it is final and announced. There may well be intent there but no deal is done until the transactions are completed. All parties will be subject to confidentiality / Non Disclosure Agreements and would be absolutely foolish to breach such when they may well and usually do contain damages type recourse.

All of the above is guesswork but this will be a highly complex series of transactions and I suspect that none of the so called delays relate in any way to the team or management of the team, but actually the structure of the business.
So tomorrow then? ;)
