Takeover Rumours

Just reading the website for MSD Capital and they state

“The purpose of MSD Capital is to make investments that consistently generate superior absolute risk-adjusted returns over the long-term.”

They also talk about buying “mispriced” assets/investments.

The only way they’ll get superior returns is if we can manage promotion to the Premier League. Hopefully they’re prepared to invest in both the short term (buying good players now) and long term (via the academy and overhauling the recruitment structure) to make that happen.

If this was close then surely we’d be in a position to sign a couple of players before the deadline. Ross said he couldn’t do that so it doesn’t stack up for me. People are getting really carried away
What if it doesn't go through? We are back in debt having spent money we don't have.

Not to go too serious, but again we have to thank Ellis Short for this. In wiping the debt, he made us a serious value proposition. To get a club of our standing, largely debt free, at League One prices made us very attractive - much more so than the Mags. The current owners have done very well to wait for the best bid, but it was inevitable there'd be interest. If we'd still had millions of pounds of debt, nobody would be touching us.

Some interesting comments on this....

We do mate but let's not forget the fans of Bury FC who today would be happy with just 1% of our good fortune. It seems that it's going to be a very grim Friday for them. And let's no forget how close we came.

These 4 blokes are rich, rich beyond imagination. If people think it will be Man city route though they are wrong - it'all about self sufficiency and growth. They will make us massive in the States. Bunch of suits in the Hilton now - anybody else see them? If this takeover happens then it is a major holy shot moment. Imagine winning Division 1 - hawayyyyyy - (yep im swept up in the moment)

They won’t do any work for it. They make such volumes of money by having hundreds of such companies. They’ll invest accordingly, leave it to Donald and come back in a few years, sell up and pocket the money. Same as Ellis’ plan was with Quinn, till it went tits up. Their involvement will be minimal - even being on the board they’ll probably only be there asset insurance

You don't know that at all. I find it amazing that someone would post this without having a clue what their intentions are and who they are.
