Takeover Rumours

I wonder if Stewart donald was concerned about the Ross being sacked rumours and told the fanzines to put it out he wont be sacked. Thinking hes doing the right thing. In reality many fans wouldn't be bothered if he was sacked and would see it as a positive if the new owners brought their own manager in.

Dont think Ross will still be here at Christmas like.

Seems like it’s gone off topic abit here, any legit updates worth reporting?

Not really, basically it's still definitely happening, announcement highly likely to be next week (I'd guess Wednesday) and Jack Ross is staying (since ALS and RR both tweeted to that effect which suggests it's been fed to them by the club)

I think it's just managing expectations. I think he'll have known fans were discussing it and some were getting giddy about who might come in. They want the announcement to be a positive thing, if it was tempered by fans thinking "shit, I thought we were getting a new manager as well" it would dampen the mood. With that in mind best to leak now that the manager is staying at present, then no one is disappointed when the otherwise incredibly positive news breaks

I wonder how Ross feels about the speculation as to whether he is staying or going - especially about the elation shown by a significant number of posters in regards to his proposed departure. Its hardly going to motivate him is it, and he wasn't exactly the most motivated person already.
Spot on mate ,dont know if its been discussed but about 12/13 players are out of cotract at end of season. The new owners need to offer a promotion bonus to the players or we are fucked.Motivation is essential

Being a free agent from a promotion-winning team is a bonus in itself! There might be a few golden handshakes about, and maybe one or two offered extensions.

Hmmmm I have wanted to believe your updates in the takeover but that statement is so far from the truth I now question everything else you have said. Jack has less than a year left on his contract and is on a relative pittance in the managerial salary stakes, getting rid would probably cost less than £500,000.
Eh? I agree we couldn't afford to sack him before now
If it were me taking the club on I wouldn't wait... The work and preparation to put things right or wanting to run the club a different way starts on day 1, just like CM & SD stated when they moved in. The changes start at that point, not in January so I'm sceptical to what RR and ALS are spouting about no manager change.. New owners will have a vision of where they want to go with the club and will want their own man soon as. Whoever the players are will get a lift from a new man in charge and they will lay the blueprint for what they see as the way forward as Man City done. if players can see a new positivity around the club that any new manager would bring, they will buy into it... The current management team consisting of Coton ,Hill ,Ross and SD, will change on day 1, with SD taking control of the overall running of the club. A new manager (if they are as high profile as some suggestion mentioned and their intentions are long term) would have control of all aspects of the footballing side of things from Scouting to tea ladies. I would suspect, when the January plans begin to be assessed, (they currently must have some plans made) formulated and put into action. the new owners will move fast to get us up soon as possible..

New owners always want to do things their way.
..and by their way that seems to be letting Donald take the reins full time. JR is Donald's man.

if Ross is staying he'll be on borrowed time unless his attitude to the game changes overnight

can't see the new lot being as forgiving as SD
