Takeover Rumours

He's explained that already. It's because we don't have Premier league players now.

Of course Rochdale et al don't either though and generally have vastly inferior players but that doesn't matter.
Aye Peterborough are a league one side and look to be playing some great stuff. Last season we had several players who’s entire career had been spent at a higher level and he still couldn’t get them playing. The argument were a league one side so we’re incapable of playing good football is absolute bollocks

You can count on one hand the amount of games we’ve dominated under Ross. Not good enough with the resources at his disposal.

And we play good football under Ross do we? Hanging on against rochdale and nearly entering accrington half after half time

You're absolutely clueless

Having PL players in a struggling Pl is one thing. Having one of the strongest teams in league one and still failing to look decent is far far worse

Pointless arguing with him, you can’t criticise any aspect of the club without him defending it. Been like it for years.

It was absolutely awful until January iirc but once he got us signings in and he changed a few things it got better. I remember the Southampton home game being particularly awful and he got lucky against the mags with toivonens injury. After January though I thought we played good stuff and it was the first time I’d been positive about the clubs direction for years

yea, absolutely right,i remember thinking,a couple more good signings during close season and we'd be looking good, then the twat upped sticks and left, realising a dream my arse, his ego wouldn't let him say no to the england job, just my opinion like

I'm not even that bothered about playing good football while we are down here tbh. I'd be happy just being on top in games against mid/lower league 1 sides and looking like we deserve to win and have something to build on and gibe some confidence that poor performances aren't going to catch up on us again. Don't need to play good football to be the better side consistently.

Exactly

Well your idea of good football is different to mine, BSA is good at organising a team but his football isn’t good too watch

To be fair to him for some of his time at Bolton the football was good eg the Okocha and Djorkaeff era and there were about 5 games where we played good football but after then most of his jobs have been scrapping for survival and it’s just been dull and functional.

Yeah like I say I can barely think of 5 games where we’ve been comfortable winners. Always feels like we’re hanging on and incapable of controlling the game

My weekend has been a bit of a blur due to the drink, so is the latest on the takeover announcement, that it will be sometime this week? I'm sure i saw a post on here saying it could still be weeks yet?

The football under O’Neill and Ross is far worse than anything else we’ve seen since our last return to the prem. BSA might not have had us playing tiki taka but it was a damn sight better than this. It’s moot however because he’s not coming back.
We played some good stuff in the early days under oniel, not recognising this is rewriting history! He went to short in the summer to ask for investment in a few players and was refused his targets ..started playing tight defensive stuff ( worst ive seen)to prove a point and could only attract shit in the january window and the rest is history ...........during shorts time although he spent millions chasing his tail we never sustained investment and had 6 or 7 good players of our own in in our team creating something to build upon year after year.We need to build a team and that takes time luck and money and of course a decent manager and at this point i dont think that manager is Ross

Quite often premier league sides struggle to play good football against the scrappers of the lower division and effectively win with a bit of extra quality. It’s what we’re doing now mostly. Our standard crap goal conceded remains my biggest concern because it will become more than one against better sides.

I know we were a lot better organised but just didn’t really enjoy watching us
Named Sunderland manager in October 2015 when we were 19th in the table with 3 points from the first 8 games. In the January transfer window in brought in Kone', Kirchoff and Khazri. Remember that match against Liverpool when we were 2 nil down with 10 minutes to play and managed to get a draw.
Allardyce might not be everyone's cup of tea, but he certainly knew the transfer market, was able to organize the defence and was even good enough to be named England manager. Who knows what he would have achieved had he stayed.

I know this isn't a response to me but I disagree with this. I personally didn't want Grigg either.

Last season Ross spent months saying he wanted a left sided defender and in January we went out and got Dunne (a right sided defender). We've now signed 7 CB's in about 14 months. We still don't have a left sided defender. We are playing Willis (another right sided CB there).

We've allowed James to leave, knowing Oviedo would follow, and ended up having to ring round and sign anyone that was available on deadline day so an academy product, who was struggling, wasn't the only left back at the club, and were so desperate we signed them injured.

We are playing a cm at right back because despite signing a specialist RB he's been awful and now has been dropped from the side.

We've signed defensive midfielder after defensive midfielder which Donald highlighted on twitter was a reason why the squad was so bloated it stopped us from signing anyone early in the window. Ross stated in the summer he wanted pace. We didn't bring any in.

We've paid massively over the odds on Ross' top target and he's on the bench every game.

We lost a winger on loan and haven't replaced them leaving us short of options out wide.

We've got the head of recruitment going to speed dating events because we are more interested in trying to avoid paying agents than we are in identifying targets and signing them.

The criteria for signings seems to be free and available and whilst some players are decent individuals, none of them look like a team, or have characteristics that compliment others, or work in partnerships because none of them seem to have been signed with any prior thought or suitability to identity.

Ross played a back 5 all summer and the beginning of the seaoan and played 3/4 players out of position in the first games because he signed nobody to play in the roles he'd decided would get us promoted.

That’s spot on that mind.
He needs moving on.

Fat scam no way as soon as someone offered 50p more he would be away.

But he did not he took the cash.

Yes we have, your just another 1 who has this thing against Ross and nothing is going to change that, even if we win the league you will just say well we should win it anyway
I wouldnt worry yourself ,no chance of winning the league with this personality vaccum ,80 odd games .No style, organisation,or even semblance of a team, just a couple of players pulling us through games.Make no mistake peterboro wont be a one off .
