Bolton and Bury aside ...
... I'd guess it's a staffing shuffle that's delaying this announcement.

My 2 cents...if they are announcing it in the presence of the media with questions and answers, I’m sure they will want everything sorted so they look like they have everything covered. I know I have a 1,000 questions myself... and as a fan, I hope when (if) it is announced they cover it all so we all have a good idea of where we are heading...they can take all the time they want for me.

Not at the moment ...
... it's of less importance than me getting to my feet and going to the fridge.

Sunderland are about to be announced as the 2nd richest club in the world.

The state of a bit of Tyneside concrete may be vital to you but my next Peroni tops it for me
That might be so but any bad news about them always makes me smile.

Bingo!

Probably depends on the details tbh. We know the media are obsessed by stories of money in football and it sounds like we're about to be taken over by the richest group ever to buy a football club in this country. That, coupled with the fact Dell is involved (him being a name people will recognise) means I think it will get a bit of interest. I'm not talking centre page pull outs or anything but it'll be fairly well covered. If it also came with a well known/ respected DoF or similar it would be of even more interest

I'm just as interested in how an announcement would look to be honest, will there be a press conference with 3 or 4 of the investors? Will it be left to SD and CM as the face of the club to answer questions? Maybe we might get interviews done through safc.com with the new lads... A lot of options.

Good post its probably this and some of Reivers "guess work" combined that's the reason behind the announcement. Fact of the matter is its done. I'm just waiting on the club statement and the level of their ambition. Top ten in the premier is my guess which is good......for now.

They deserve the chance to get things right on the pitch, which is what they will be measured by in the future.
Success on the pitch is what a football club is about provided it is done sensibly.

Aye, be interesting to see if Dell is there as well. Stay away and maybe it keeps expectations realistic, makes him seem more distant from it, might even help with not hyping us up to the point where prices for players go mental just because we're in for them; on the other hand turning up would be a major show of ambition and would probably get people a lot more excited/ confident that they really mean business. Be interesting to see what way they play it

If he's going to be a passive shareholding investor, I'd be very surprised to see him at any announcement.
