Takeover Rumours

I think it is. The way the club has been run away from the footballing side has been excellent. That said if keeping Donald meant keeping hill et al due to his loyalty then I’d be less impressed. The footballing side needs an overhaul.

Wish we'd never got involved with ticket master hopefully with the take over deal we can gan back to the old system of just gan to the ticket office & get match tickets certainly for our trips to Wembley

Yes - but our main problems have been created by the lack of a footballing strategy that flows through the whole club and all the teams within it - and includes a consistent recruitment approach. That's not what these two have brought to us.

Let's see someone on the football side of things with a long-term vision.

It's a great thing imo. They have both worked incredibly hard and done a great job not only in reengaging with the fans but also in terms of doing the financial work required in order to make us an attractive investment for people like the ones buying us now (and of course Methven seems to have been instrumental in getting them to the table). They can continue to do the micro managing that the new owners won't be able to commit to, especially assuming Donald is moving to the area, and we know they will continue to ensure we run a tight ship and aren't wasteful with the money we've now got. They deserve to stay, enjoy the ride and hopefully make many millions from it down the line, I think we'll benefit by them staying so aye, can't really see amy negative to it whatsoever
great post

Don't think it's to do with exposure like, League 1 club gets taken over won't be big national news. Even the locals are less interested than they were the blatantly bollocks sheikh takeover of the scum.

Bolton and Bury aside ...
... I'd guess it's a staffing shuffle that's delaying this announcement.

nah. Sod that. I queued for 9 hours in 2014 and could only get tickets about 2 rows from the moon. I've been behind the goal for both Wembley trips since and never even left my front room to join a queue.

Based on the recruitment team they have put in place you’d say no. Once they have bit cash behind them and responsibilities of runnin the club with actual bosses maybe they’ll get that right tho
It's all good and well saying that, but none of us really know what restrictions the club have been under in terms of recruitment. There obviously hasn't been an endless pot of cash to dip into and let's face it, Sunderland in League one aren't really that much of an attractive proposition for players. Cloth has to be cut accordingly, as it still stands the club are losing money every week, so perhaps a little perspective is required before making broad assumptions.

Probably depends on the details tbh. We know the media are obsessed by stories of money in football and it sounds like we're about to be taken over by the richest group ever to buy a football club in this country. That, coupled with the fact Dell is involved (him being a name people will recognise) means I think it will get a bit of interest. I'm not talking centre page pull outs or anything but it'll be fairly well covered. If it also came with a well known/ respected DoF or similar it would be of even more interest
