Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

All true.
But businessmen make profits by adding value, and these clowns have done the opposite. They inherited some massive problems (ridiculous contracts mainly) but they also took over a club with massive potential, a decent squad and a very good chance of promotion, but blew it all with their total incompetence. Decisions taken over recruitment killed all three of those expectations, and they have been playing catch-up ever since. We are still not even in the play-off places! If they get out without a huge loss they will be lucky. Believing they deserve a profit is delusion on a Trumpian scale.
In fact MADBOB's assessment of where SD's head is at makes me think both 'glorious leaders' might be in their bunkers right now having a 'Downfall' episode.

I don’t think he ever wanted to be in full control mate as he knew he didn’t have the funds. I suspect he believed Juan would be the money man but he could stay on as Chairman and enjoy the day to day running of things. That dream died when Juan ran for president and he’s been sinking ever since.

The FPP thing seems to have been the final straw though as I don’t think he has ever recovered.

Its very likely he could get out now with a break even figure (what was it Grumpy said he's put in, about £11m?), which quite frankly is more than his efforts deserve. Seems very likely he wants to profit from it. Now, you can say that's business and its all well and good, but I'm not looking at it as a business transaction. I'm looking at it as a fan, and any fan should be concerned / critical of failed people wanting to cling on in the hopes of getting an undeserved profit later, and especially when that desire actively harms the club by making any "sale" negotiation harder.

Purely from a business sense they might be able to get away with it (or yet another takeover might fail and they might end up out of pocket plugging major gaps every month). If that's the way they want to go about things, however, then I've got no time whatsoever for any posts that read as if I'm meant to be having an element of sympathy for them. The decision to still be here and to still want to cling onto shares in the future is his and his alone. Most businessmen don't want to make a loss, no. Most shit ones do however, or we'd all be in business, maybe he needs to accept that and cut his losses.

Haven't they been offered a long-term sweetener in-terms of profit too? They've got an excellent deal imo.

Idea they could theoretically try and control things from minority shareholding position - if they thought that was the plan and want that too, then they must have thought KLD was f***ing stupid.

Oh, I think he really, really did want full control and Sartori was there to offer financial muscle to satisfy the EFL. There is no doubt that bringing in his Eastleigh mates and the Maja/Grigg fiasco shown on STID were 100% Don's decisions.
I suspect FPP ran away when they saw the shitshow lurking in the books and I suspect it remains a problem in the current takeover.

I never got that with Donald, it was obvious he was talking utter shit immediately, his story on basic facts changed from day to day, and he tried to tak out a huge loan 2 days after he took over

The writing was on the wall, those podcasts were some most cringeworthy things I had ever listened to

I said all this at the time, virtually on day 1, and got absolute dog's abuse

I may talk utter shit on 99% of things, and be a total twat, but on this I was sadly proven right.

No idea how people were taken in by them personally, I guess people would have just welcomed anyone.

I'm genuinely baffled by it, it was clear why they were hear from day one, and then we appointed Richard hill and Paul Reid!

You can only truly judge at the end of their tenure. Their remit was to get us investment, sold and promoted. They nearly did this and fucked it up. They had a pile of shit to sort out that first year, can you remember this.?

Think I'll wait. Not knocking but pretty sick of being built up and then kicked in the cock

Aye, I don't want to come across as negative, but I think the dancing emoji fellas were more warranted when there was talk of FPP buying the club and having massive plans etc. We definitely need a deal to go through to get rid of Donald, but obviously this one will still see the current three owners staying in some capacity. Equally we have no idea what kind of funding or ambitions KLD would have, or how they'd be affected by him not owning all of the club. Like I say, definitely positive that a billionaire wants a part of the club, but I'm sure other clubs have very rich owners and don't get very far. The plans, ambitions and proof on the pitch are what matters, I'll dance when those become apparent, and especially when Donald and Methven finally leave completely. Ideally someone else good will come in at the last minute and buy the club in its entirety

Maja one is a bit more nuanced, I'd proportion a fair bit of blame to the Short/Bain regime for not extending his contract given he was 19 and scoring in the championship. It would have been good if we could have done a deal with Bordeaux/someone else that involved loaning him back till the end of the season, but they still messed it up by replacing Maja with Grigg.

Nixon is a well known Partick Thistle fan Bob. Fair play if they admit they've made mistakes but how would we have gone bust if not for them? Sounds like at best they are supporting the club by just paying in money that they owe us anyway.
One goal in 17 appearances were hardly demanding of a lucrative new contract.

Excitement from Prehab over the road about the further dilution of SD’s stake in the club. Dancing emoji’s and everything.

Jumping on Nixons story after trying to dig anyone out on here who suggested Rodwell and Donald were involved in appointing Johnson/Speakman
