The club tweet quite obviously had nothing to do with it like. That was people getting far too carried away. Can't help thinking the club tweet had nothing to do with Poyet, surely the social media team wouldn't be told until it was done?

Tend to agree with that. Some people were analysing every tweet looking for coded messages. I don't think our Social Media team are that bright............The club tweet quite obviously had nothing to do with it like. That was people getting far too carried away.
What’s times the announcements today lads.
Can’t wait for the news, will we be buzzing or underwhelmed.
I think we all know
Cheers mate. It’s been common knowledge though so not sure why it would scupper it so late in the dat. Unless of course he found out who and wasn’t impressedSeems to be a few suggestions by other posters that it might be to do with SpD and Poyet not having total control.
When they make a typo they are “thick as whale spunk”; when they have the word “Back” in bold then they are sending us coded messages about the new managerTend to agree with that. With the damage caused by Donald and methven its just not going to be anywhere being close to acceptable if they retain any kind of ownership. The club will only be able to truly move on once they have gone.Hank they are almost certainly staying on in a vain attempt to recuperate their losses. I’m not sure how many millions Donald is in the red on Sunderland but selling now would crystallise his losses.
If he can get the cost base to a point the club is not losing money he can then take an annual dividend which is probably more than the interest his original capital outlay would have received in the bank.
The “take over” seems to be a mechanism to get extra working capital into the business because it continues to lose money and no other financing options are available but to dilute his ownership. That or administration and lose the lot.
Honesty, thinking pragmatically about it this is what is happening. It is not a takeover and plenty of people at close hand have said as much.

And I suspect their presence will have a shocking impact on attendances.
We need clean break and a fresh start.
So the PR machine will create the impression that they have relinquished control and are now silent partners. With the damage caused by Donald and methven its just not going to be anywhere being close to acceptable if they retain any kind of ownership. Duty of care? I don’t think so. He wasn’t obliged to say anything.Did Poyet change his mind? It seemed to me somebody started a rumour he was at the club to sign and it went viral. He then had a duty of care to state his non-interest. Surely it was never on the cards.
Not obliged but as a decent man who cares about the supporters being mis-led he would have felt some duty.Duty of care? I don’t think so. He wasn’t obliged to say anything.
Well, they have to say that. Doesn't mean that the identity of the new man isn't known already.
Be Rodwell saying that his mate Cowley is a top quality manager etc, pushing it onto them and so forth.Let's be honest, dreyfus and a sporting director probably don't have a clue who Cowley is. If he gets the job its proof that the same fools are running the show.
Takeover is being over-egged massively once again
The club are on the verge of losing thousands of fans. Nobody is bothered anymore.Be Rodwell saying that his mate Cowley is a top quality manager etc, pushing it onto them and so forth.
Are we seriously saying that two lads who basically do meet and greets and other ambassadorial type duties have an effect on the results of the football club?KB is a club legend and always will be but he is part for the problem, been their too long and needs freshening up. Same goes for Montgomery.

Mental isn't it.Are we seriously saying that two lads who basically do meet and greets and other ambassadorial type duties have an effect on the results of the football club?
Whos to say Cowley isn't being hired because he knows rodwell by that logic?I wouldn't be too convinced by Cowley, but not sure how you came to that conclusion. Surely this is the point of CVs, interviews and references? I'd rather we got the manager who performed best in the recruitment process, not just someone who the new owner knows.
That's the only reason Cowley will get the job.Whos to say Cowley isn't being hired because he knows rodwell by that logic?
