Takeover in trouble

Re this timebomb of information that people can't divulge, is it information that the owners are legally obliged to disclose?
Or are they trying to be open with the supporters and shooting themselves in the feet?

The only things they are legally obliged to disclose are documents and accounts required to be filed at Companies House. as far as I can see, the club is currently up to date there.

This is the inherent problem GOM. I appreciate you are trying to be positive, but I'll be honest it sounds like (in the nicest possible terms) you are um, tonguing their collective arseholes, with the idea that if you do that enough, they'll let you in the front door to have full penetrative sex (with their accounts).

I just doubt very much whether the statements and language in the minutes will be categorical, or completely disprove the idea that the £10m loan was used to pay off Donald's personal debt for the shares. I also doubt it will provide a solid schedule of repayment.

If I'm wrong, I'll happily say so, but you're definitely interpreting their words as 'inarticulate' rather than 'disingenuous'. I think they often say things like 'it wasnt 32m' rather than 'it was 25m and we loaned ourselves the rest' for example.

You're very much wrong. The last thing I want is full access to the books. The inevitable consequence of that is that i'd never be able to post anything on finance again, because it would inevitably come with an NDA. I didn't ask to go to this meeting. RAWA asked me if I was willing to do it. What I say is, and will be, my own personal take on it.

Fair enough, but you implied yesterday that by being kinder now, they may be more forthcoming in future. Do you think that's likely?

Ask legitimate questions (grounded in financial facts that we know) about something that should concern fans if it is true?

You're a flat earther mate.

Incredible. GOM has said himself that he is inclined to be a but softer in his interpretation because he sees a longer term value in that. Fine, but if you can't ask questions about our financial health without people accusing you of being illogical, we are fucked.

Everything I have said (and there are others who've said this before and after) is grounded in financial FACTS. The interpretation will always be more or less lenient depending on the interpreter, but there is plenty of reason to question their evasiveness.

You need to understand that the Collective Meeting is not an adversarial forum. If it turned into that it wouldn't last very long - the club would bin it. It's a forum where supporters groups can raise questions, hear the answers, and, on areas like the matchday experience , collaborate to an extent (eg the redecoration of the Roker End). The supporters ask the questions and the club give their answers. Individual supporters can express their own opinion on those answers when the minutes are published. If we are confrontational, we won't get anything at all.

I don't think they ever will let you near Madrox's accounts, but the bigger problem is the language and evasiveness.

Bit condescending towards GOM that like, I’m pretty sure he was asked to attend because he knows about numbers from the fan group.

K - in what capacity if you don't mind me asking? Hard to sift through the bullshit on here at present is all. We might not agree on some things but like others I welcome your take on the financial nitty gritty.

Officially, as a RAWA repesentative. I am a member, though not on the Committee. It's very anomalous, but the Chairman and Vice Chairman were keen to have an accountant in attendance if possible.

What proof? please elaborate and provide documented facts.

What i know is that the club was destined for the scrap heap with apathy from both players and supporters. Last season there was a reconnect as we started seeing both the club and the supporters working together.

At the end of the day we didn't get promoted but i for one was proud of my club again.
We’re on the scrap heap man. Pull your head out of you arse. Reconnected with fuck all. Proud of underachieving? Last season was a failure.

How many times since then have you wished you had never gone?

Your going to be a busy man on here when the minutes are published

The flat earthers are now throwing mud at decent posters, to see if that sticks.
If said poster has the temerity to provide an opposite view, or a view that doesn’t align with theirs, he or she will ultimately be labelled as an arse licker, a sheep, a clapping seal or just plain weird. That’s how things work these days. If they don’t have proof or evidence then they’ll use innuendo, vague hints or just outright made up nonsense to support their cause. There’s nothing wrong with healthy scepticism but it’s best fact based. We are right to question things when we have concerns, but also accept we may not like the answers as it may not be what we want to hear. Eventually the truth will come out, until then a modicum of restraint and patience would be welcome. But in these times of I want it now that, I fear isn’t going to happen.
