whats the chances of the T20 being called off cos of the weather this saturday?

forecast in all over the place at the moment, at what point do they make a call if its looking like rain?

It can be a 5 an over game if it starts by like 9pm or something along those lines.

So won't get called off on until after the schedule start time unless we had biblical rain all day and clear no prospect of play.

Looking like 30-40% rain for the entire afternoon which bodes well for a full game.

This has been true for as long as I can remember. Sowter's form when bowling is worrying me a bit. He isn't taking wickets and he isn't stifling the runs. He's been a very good addition for the last few years, but less so this year. His fielding is still good though. Maybe just a blip. Maybe we aren't setting fields to his strengths. I don't know
I do know that I've been worried since the start of the campaign about our ability to score quickly once the top order fall. There is still a Jimmy Neesham shaped hole in our line up
 
I was Merchant Taylors on Sunday to watch Middlesex vs Hampshire.

I hadn't heard of him before but saw Manny Lumsden bowl and I was quite impressed. Only 17. Very quick but bowled pretty clever. He did well tonight as well. One to watch out for.

What a shame we don't get to play Middlesex this year!

I thought the whole point of playing teams from other groups was to maximize games against rarely or never played teams. Yet we host Northants again as usual who are absolutely flying.

Thought we had Glamorgan and Northants from another group for some reason.

Makes sense as I thought it was one from each of the other two groups, so not sure why I had Glamorgan as a fixture.

Well the point still stands RE Northamptonshire when Gloucestershire/Somerset/Glamorgan at home would have made more sense.

We've never played them or Essex in the format. So would have been a change.

Assume this idea is to improve the gap between the North Group and South Group teams. We won't improve if we don't play the best teams.

Since Notts won in 2020. Finals day has seen Lancs twice, Yorkshire once and Northants once from the North Group.

Although despite advising we need to play the best teams. So far Northants are the best team with 4 from 4 and beaten two former South Group teams in the process.

I don't like it makes it unfair teams playing different opponents, we play Middlesex yet derby could play one of the better teams like Surrey i don't know if they are just using that as an example

I mean the other format was daft anyway as we played 14 games instead of 16 so missed out playing two teams home and away.

But they had to do something and I don't mind what they've done. Just think a missed opportunity not making as many of the cross group games between the old North Group and South group teams as possible.
