He did today. 100%. Actively put himself in positions to not receive the ball, not turning round when the keeper was looking for an out ball. Numerous times. Coward today.
I thought Gooch first half was in brilliant positions. Not a defender near him. On the shoulder. Where he should be as a winger. That no one could switch the play and find him was the problem. Saved us defensively a couple of times aswell. Frustrating as hell second beating himself as usual

Yeh i'm starting to think he's the next Lee Camp. Young Keeper though, probably not daft. But that 1st goal for Bolton last week. It really confused me. The other 5 goals conceded weren't his fault but the teams defence...dear oh dear

I just hope people don't take the anger home with them or on the street. It's not worth it.

He's awful and I'd certainly be wary of signing him even on a free. If he wants to play here he needs to show signs of improvement, and soon.

What do you mean why? Because they're the 14 who actually went out and got battered today. My point was the players share the blame not that speakman is a golden god of football
You can’t just keep blaming the players. Or are we just constantly signing players with a shit attitude? If so that’s a recruitment issue.
But it can’t be that. Our problems stem from abysmal leadership throughout the club.

That’s not a team out there. It’s just 11 signings. Kids from premier league academies, older lads who’s careers have gone wrong, our own academy kids who have a good game in 5 at best. And Lyndon fcking Gooch.

These two German lads - what’s that all about? Some sort of strange punt. Nowhere near suitable for what we need now. The keeper looks like he entered a competition to win a professional contract. Has he played any professional football before?

We are a rabble. Total chaos and confusion to the point we can’t even play a simple pass. It’s not a lack of effort, it’s just a complete mess. I feel quite sorry for the players.

How many times has their keeper dropped the ball?
done my head in when he feigned injury after we didn’t get the goal when the ball crossed the line, goalkeepers do it all the time to stop the pressure and I’m sure I seen the Lincoln goalie doing the same before their 2nd goal. For me if the trainer comes on for the goalie that goes down after a incident then he should be the same as an outfield player, off the field until told to come on by ref. Soon stop the f***ing cheating bastards

Not sure I agree mate. But it’s opinions. I thought he was utterly dreadful especially when it came to beating a man and getting a cross in. He’s incapable of getting past the full back

Sort of my take aswell. Except I think their is a team. We’re just not selecting it. Players let down by management.

I honestly didn’t see a lack of effort or commitment today. Just a collection of players with no direction

I think that you are wrong. I thought he tried his best today, and didn’t hide. However, he is a very poor footballer (lower L1 at best) who is hopelessly out of form and totally devoid of confidence. He should have been nowhere near that pitch today. Whoever the coaches / managers were today, I sincerely hope that is the last game they coach for Sunderland at any level. From team selection to tactics to game management to substitutions to their touch line antics, I genuinely think that I wouldn’t have done a worse job.

Tell you what, one thing I noticed today, that Cirkin looked like he was dragging a fridge behind when he was trying to run

The team selection was a disgrace. They had all week to come up with that. One of the worst decisions ever seen at this football club to pick at 11. Gooch, Neil and Evans should’ve been absolutely nowhere near that team today. And should be nowhere near it Tuesday.
Totally agree. We have 4 out and out wingers at the club. We have literally put all of our eggs into that basket by signing another 2 in January. They choose not to play any of the 3 fit ones.
