Sunderland railway station.

I've found GC very unreliable though and sadly had a reputation for cancelled services.

If I need to be in London for a certain time , I doubt I would risk GC as I'm into double figures for cancelled trains.

I would love to use then more and always a busy service
That’s a shame to hear. There are some really good people there who work hard to provide the best service they can.

Part of the problem is that, as an ‘open access’ operator, they take second priority on the network behind the franchised operators such as LNER. When there are problems on the network, that then has knock-on impact on subsequent services because of staff/rolling stock location.

The team there will be working to keep improving.

Grand Central can get to absolute fuck. Worst company I’ve dealt with in the UK, the only company I’ve lodged a formal complaint with.

WDSC.

In no way do I blame the staff and would love to know the actual reason, trouble is we only 5/6 trains a day so when one is cancelled you need to wait for the next one which could be 2 hours after

Then you only have about 20 unreserved seats.

I wish the service well and think it's essential for Sunderland but it has issues that need resolving.

Picked my daughter up off the grand Central tonight, two git big cases, escalator broke, well not working, don't know what has happened there

Have they put a new one in when redoing the concourse? It was always breaking down.

We always used the lifts at the North entrance instead.

I couldn't say if it was new, looks new, I think there is a lift like, I just humped them up the stairs.
Could be teething problems but not very good when they have spent all that money on it.

Where do you think they get their stories? Passed through the station again earlier today and I’ll say it again for those at the back - WDSC.

Well Done Sunlun Council?

But Julie Elliott MP seemed to be taking the credit on Twitter a couple of weeks ago!

To me it looks unfinished and anything would have been better than the former station (the new south end entrance is a massive improvement) but a big disappointment when you look at some of the original designs mooted. I'll probably award it a 'Wilfy' aka WDSC when it and the the surrounding infrastructure is finished.

I think it looks so empty currently, that's up to network rail ro get the units filled and art on the walls

The curtain walling is magnificent.

Wrang.

Obviously will look better when the units are filled but it wouldn't surprise me if that's a slow process. There are lots of empty units just outside on Market Square and in the Bridges and it's not as if there are large quantities of trains through the station to create footfall. I hope it's in hand and progressing but they'll need to be realistic with rents.
