I know of both events mate.

The first one was defo 95 after the port vale game.

The second one was around 2000 as I know the lad you on about who was fighting the mags. He even had a mag top on under his jumper. (LT).

Aye that's the lad, another lad that sticks out was CB, he was standing on the wall outside the club with no shirt on swinging a pool que at anything that moved!!

20-30 mags must have some bottle or just plain mental to front up a full pub of sunderland... i can remember this being reported/talked about like

In the first incident mate it was after you's had played boro, must have been around 60/70 got off at seaburn, they attacked windmills where about 30 sland were inside, bit of a stand off but must have been about 40 off us just walking into bell car park after port vale game, sland ran at them and loads of fighting went on. Some mags took a proper pasting and got ran back to the station when the coppers started turning up in vans etc. Few mags were nicked if I remember rightly, may be wrong but one may have even got a bit time.

Haven't read the full thread but will do when I have time but can remember some tasty meetings over the years. Mags and Boro obviously, Man United, Forrest, Spurs and others. Leicester night match in the other cup was canny, as was carlisle games.

Some reporter who bought their drinks and I didn't get any free drinks cos I'd lost me phone. Don't know if those lads were hooligans or not but they got free beer and I f***ing didn't.

I remember hearing something about that before. Wasn't it a lass who had been buying the lads their drink and then when she started asking the questions they told her to fuck off?

If any mags know CW he was there and got nicked iirc. Worked with him for afew years after than and he's a good lad (for a mag). Banned now.

Every chance I will slip out of the escort at Newcastle. Best book a few days off school.

I would advise against that, me and my marra did that a while back, got spotted and followed onto the metro..when the metro started about 5/6 blokes gave us a going over!!

Probabaly did not help my marra was wearing a pink illuminous nike cap like.

Done it every time so far and been ok, normally go into a bar in toon. :-?

....maybe because all the 'mentioned' stuff is sensationalist shite.

I agree with what you saying about how stuff gets totally blown OTT.

Its nothing to brag about or give it large and not something I can say Im proud off.

For me, its memories of growing up, like most people in life you can look back and wish to change things that you've done or been involved with.

From people having affairs, to people losing partners through gambling or drink or drugs, to people falling out with family members etc etc. There is loads of different things that people will regret.

Im just posting stuff as I remember it, there is loads of non events that people talk about which I can remember vividly. Others are as they happended, I have been bottled, bricked, bashed and brayed all around the country, nicked etc but for me it was part and parcel of growing up.

Would I want my kids or family members to get involved and do simliar.... not in a million years marra

Good post and I reckon many can relate to it.
Then you will get knackers who still go on about it and glorify it. Yes you Rowell.

Stop trying to be a f***ing clever curnt....it was some friendly advise man.

Not your first snidy comment on this thread....

Eh?

That's true and it has always made me feel safe at away games over many years knowing that are some very handy lads amongst us. The most recent example was the first leg of the play-off semi-final at Palace - mentioned earlier in this thread. The Palace thugs were very cocky when they approached the old folks, women and disabled at the front of us away fans but they rapidly dispersed as the handy lads from the rear went towards and over the barriers...

I hear the turf was very lush that night8-) There was almost bother at half time an all as the gate segregating the fans was almost pulled open a couple of times. I got talking to a couple of Chelsea fans that night and a Hearts fan (supporting palace that night) who also decided to get involved. He sharp scarpered as well.

Remember being stood in the Fulwell before a mags game, probably around 75 or 76 when I was just a young un.
Anyway this solitary mag arrives and stood a couple of feet away from me and me mates. He had a crash helmet under his arm, proudly wearing his mag scarf.
Needless to say we were amazed at his nerve, he was a big dense looking bugger though.
After a while he attracted the attention of a few of our hoolies, who stood next to him. Then one of them started shouting and jumping around him swinging his arms like a gorilla. The mag just stood his ground, totally blanking them. Looked like it was all about to kick off when the coppers turned up and escorted him out.
Fuck knows what would of happend if they hadn't saved him like.

He may have smacked them with his crash helmet, you never know.

Thing that does my tits in about the whole hoolie thing is that not many people mention getting a hiding? They go OTT about the numbers involved for sure but surely with all these takings of ends, pubs, train stations someone get's the shit kicked out of them?
